Yikes no Phoenix National this year! Wonder why?

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

Unfortunately, it's true. Same as last year. Not actually a fact, more like wishful thinking.

I just looked at the schedule. Yep not there. Wow. What's going to happen to the Winternationals. Maybe a reschedule?

I'd be surprised if Pomona and Vegas will happen. Divisional and National in Vegas. So much for 2021, happy new year!

Larry- I thought you would chime in and tell us that the Winters. are going to reschedule to July. Yes I heard that they are going to put it in the western swing before or after Denver.

I heard that also. So the Winter Nationals changed to the Spring Nationals, now the Summer Nationals.

I seriously doubt the division race at Tucson will happen in February. Hangover race was canceled and I bet the divisional will be too. Like my friend Pivotdoc said, looks like if we wanna race this year it’ll be Texas.

I cant speak for other tracks as to why they schedule and cancel races. All I know is what I personnally experience and see, and believe me seeing is believing. Point of fact, LVMS held a national event and two divisionals and a track rental last fall, two of which allowed spectators. Right after the track rental they were supposed to have the Las Vegas Bracket Nationals. On that Monday morning they canceled that race, due to covid? The track already had all the restrictions and regulations in place as per requirements. The car count would probably be, best guess, about 150, and no spectators. There again, best guess, the track would maybe break even in cost. I do realize that the Governor lowered the attendance from 50% to 25%, but when you figure the track can hold 800-900 cars, 150 comes no where close to 25% capacity. So again, the race was cancelled due to covid? I dont see it. Maybe a financial decision?

Scott,

I also did not understand the 25% restriction, but Jeff clarified it.

Greg Hicks
Jeff Foster can you tell us what the restrictions are? It sounded like race tracks could be open at 25% capacity, but who knows what that means. I’d assume capacity includes fans, so it leads one to think our summit races would surely qualify, but I haven’t been keeping up with anything since thanksgiving either.
I think letting us all know what you’re dealing with could help with some of the questions

No more than 50 people including staff.
We fit into 25% or 50 people what ever is less.
Yes I know it sucks that Casinos can be open and we can’t.

Thought I heard Nev Gov said no and closed all Motorsports. I’m sure the fact that some teams did get it played into the decision.
This pretty much sucks!

I've lived in California for more than six decades and during that time the Tree Hugging Liberal's have never given up trying to end all motorsport events, this is the perfect opportunity for them to finally succeed. Newsome is their poster child simply delivering the message.

Time to seriously consider leaving California.

That doesn't clarify a thing. I bowl on a league, every other pair of lanes are closed, but you are standing two feet apart from the other bowler, no temp checks, no waiver to sign, just wear your mask. As far as the casinos being open, yes every other seat and slot machine are closed, but that still puts you within two feet of someone else. There is no one restricting entries into markets at 25%, or anywhere else for that matter. From my point of view, this is financially driven. If you can make money you will be open, if you cant you will close and blame it on covid, so you can apply for government aid. For crap sakes, the race track is out in the middle of nowhere, not in an enclosed building. Jeff busted his butt to make the track compliant, if it was good enough for the big boys, it sure as heck was good enough for a small local race.

I wish I could place a bet on that.
Easy money.(Although I have lost a lot of bets over the years, lol)

With the Democrats in charge,I would place a few bucks on a bet that an NHRA race never happens in the state of California ever again.

It's not the Huggers killing the sport in Calif. it's the value of the land. We saw it happening with Trump in office. It will continue regardless of who runs OUR country. This all dates back to Orange County in the 80's and on and on and on. And now throw a pandemic with the highest infection rate I would expect no racing for awhile, but it will return. What do you want to bet?

I bet it will return also.

It might take the 2024 election to make it happen, but I don't want that bet.

It WILL return.

Well,if I knew the answer to that,I would predict the Powerball numbers tonight.

In fact,I'm not even sure who will be President next week.
