Taking the tire thing a little further. I would suggest a 10.5 Hoosier radial. My friend here has a Chevelle that's probably heavier, about the same suspension, don't know gear, 9 X 30 radial and the car dead hooks. Runs high 6.20s low 6.30 with 20-22lbs of air in the tires. Ducky (Beard) runs the 10.5 version I think.

It's a Manley rotating assembly.

If I had to do it again (and I am) I'd go with Molnar like I did second go around.

Not to worry Bender, I sell Hoosiers and my Olds, thats not a miss print, that runs about the same as you has old school slicks but 14X31 and although its not as strange as your Hemi deal mine has an OLDS engine which is almost as rare. Imagine yours is the only one like it!

Back in the early 80's I ran a backhalf Nova with a 425 Olds engine, went 10.40's....

There actually is a Grand National out there with a Hellcat engine......

406 runs on the 29.5x10.5 M/T Pro Bracket Radials now, running 20-21 psi. Love, love, love these tires!

Really sweet ride you've got there. Congrats on the early success!

Brian,
That's a nice ride. Can't go wrong putting a Hemi in anything.

So this new more appropriate motor...are we talking a procharger???

Running almost three seconds and about 100 mph slower in the 1/8th is quite a change. But the cost and amount of work and time invested is way, way, way less. I would be lying if I said I don't miss going fast, but I'm still racing and having a blast. Another big plus for me is I don't have to invest the time and money to travel to the big races.

That being said, I really do miss the whole PDRA crowd, racers and the PDRA crew alike, they are the best!
