Credit to 1320 for keeping this site alive with his posts, he has a brash approach and makes physical attacks while attacking members here that have deceased family. I don't care for over the top attacks. Scott must love him for keeping the site alive. Views equal advertising.

One thing that should happen is keep the BS out of the"Good Morning Drr" 11,000 strong and growing, stop in a say hello. Thread

You raced there?! I never made it there but I'm told it's where Pro Mod was born

i can say i raced there on a 5 bulb tree no less. won my first race there and watched the birth of pro mod back in the day. they had an announcer Larry Wright who was legendary around here. check out some old videos on youtube, shuffletown quick 8. classic stuff right there.

ep

I took your advice, WOW what a time to be alive! can't believe you raced and won there. Gosh the atmosphere must have been electric! You still racing or are you an old head that's just here to reminisce?

Both? It's pretty cool.

Me neither, I can't hardly race my way out of a wet paper bag, but I go as often as my finances and work allow me to. Would that put you on the same Level as Big Ed?

Hating our money is an understatement these days. Granted I guess you can't hate your money if you don't have any.

You a footbreaker?

Big Ed, I ain't picking on you. I don't know you from Adam lol. I'm just playing off of all these other butt hurt mfrs they say you're a NDMF. Truly I wouldn't know one way or the other. Didn't know if people would say the same about "EP." He seems humble but I have a feeling he's better than he lets on

Gotta admit, ole boy is unapologetic, and sure says it with authority. Isn’t that what they tell you to do if you’re not sure? Give the allure of confidence?

Mike,

I take my hat off to Ya. Thanks for being #3 in Karma points/posts contributor to DRR & doing more than your fair share to allow this place to exist! It's a team effort, but you have been going above & beyond to help keep this site alive.

Mike,

Special Ed had mentioned, in an earlier post, "of the top 20 posters of all time,". I have never paid much attention to that stuff. So, I decided to look up that information; some of the most hated by Special Ed:

As already stated, you at #3
Bucky at #5
Curly at #16
Wideopen #19
While slightly out of the top 20 was imakehp at #21, I'll give him an honorable mention.

Thanks, guys for your contributions to this forum.

Lions was located at 223rd and Alameda in Long Beach, actually it's still there just not operating. You can see what is left on it on the west side of the 405.

I raced at Lions a few times as a kid....I was there when Garlits cut his dragster (and foot) in half and the "Last Race" was a madhouse, At the time Lions closing was no big deal because we had Irwindale, San Fernando, Orange County, Riverside once in a while, Santa Maria once a month, then LACR and of course the "long tow over the Grapevine" to Famoso. Of course, there was always street racing almost every night somewhere.....SoCal was a great place to grow up, but a shythole now

I've seen google earth images of the strip, incredible you can still tell where it is despite the urban overgrowth.
