Please share your 2026 racing goal(s) with a plan on how you hope to achieve them.

I have one major goal I wish to accomplish. Win the Pro Class at the Spring Fling Million on the big day! I think the furthest I've is the 4th round of Pro on the big day.

That being said, I have been a bride's maid in Pro in one of the lesser paying event days in the past. IMO, I have done well over the years with only one year I wasn't happy with myself.

I'm running out of time & need to buckle down tighter on my goal(s), so here's the plan right or wrong. I should have probably been doing some of this years ago.

#1 key in the plan is to double enter in Pro & S/Pro at home track (Vegas) for our early points races before the Spring Fling Million event. It looks like I have 8 races to hone my skills. You might ask why S/Pro! 1st, they run 1/8th mile same as the Fling. 2nd, the majority cut great lights with a box & at the Fling in the Pro Class you have to cut great lights. You had better be in the .12 range or better of the bottom bulb. Ask me or others how we know. I have a couple good story's I could tell.

Yes, I will be bottom bulbing without a box in S/Pro. I'm still thinking about not even running in Pro, because it's 1/4 mile. What do you guys think?

well I am waiting till season starts Jan 26 Australia Day weekend . First round of the NDRC national series . 8 rounds doable with 2 at my hometown track the rest are 11 or 15 hrs away .
My main goal is to improve my racing @ Willowbank In Queensland , I have done poorly there the last couple of years .I race no box off footbrake .
We cannot double class enter in the same car on national series normally, for me because the classes I can run are often back to back (box/no box) and our entry numbers are not like yours .
It would be nice to back up the national championship to make 3 in a row but thats going to need me to improve my consistency as a driver on the tree .

It's good to hear you post up Tex! I hope you accomplish your goals.

As for me doubling up, my classes are back-to-back. Wouldn't be an issue till the later rounds but my car doesn't get hot, but I would have to run it a little warmer than normal. The S/Pro class is somewhat pre-Madama's when they get to the later rounds. Most but not all think they need more time between the later rounds than other classes.

I want to lower my expenditures even more, if that is possible. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

I wouldn't expect anything less from you; I guess that's pun intended!

That's the nice thing about bracket racing. You can choose how much you spend or not spend.

2026 goal is the same as 2025. I just want to get back to the track racing, instead of spectating. Really not that concerned about going rounds, just wanna race again. I expect to get pretty familiar/comfy at the buyback shack. LOL. Going rounds would be icing on the cake for me. Learning curve with this car will be pretty steep, so being competitive out the gate will be a challenge, but I'll be putting my best effort into it. Early this year I thought it would happen, but work schedule and buying the new to us home got in the way. Mid year, decided to continue patiently waiting til time/money worked in my favor, instead of pushing too hard to get the car in shape and missing something, potentially making a mistake. Opportunity did knock last month, but a pesky coolant leak put the brakes on it. Looking good for making the Valentines race in Feb 2026, weather permitting.

Hope y'alls 2026 goes better than planned.

Missed the 2025 IRP track championship by 5 rounds, would like to improve that, or at least not let it slip away. Two mechanical failures hurt me, but better 1st round performances would have sealed the deal for me, I led points for 1 day.
Mostly want to have as much fun as we can.

I was hoping to get some feedback on the last paragraph & question. It didn't happen so I had to press on & make a decision. I sat down with my wife of 45 years & told her my goal(s). She has always had my back racing & understands our/me/my racing very well. She has given lots of winning racing advice over the years.

This is what we decided to do for our/my 2026 racing goal(s) & to prepare for the Spring Fling Million event. We both decided I will be running S/Pro for the Summit Racing points at least for the 1st 8 races. Yes, we have 8 races before the Fling. I will not be racing in Pro until after the Spring Fling races.

Something I've been wanting to do for these bigger money races is get a scramble button set-up with nitrous. While I'm unsure if I have time to get it installed & tested before the 1st of April. It's on the priority list to get done in the near future.

The whole truck. There is also damage to the bedside. That color has lots of pearl and is very transparent, its painted over a white base. If I didn't it would look like crap

Now that we have decided to run S/Pro; hopefully I'll be honing my skills for the Spring Fling.

I'm going to be doing some things differently on the starting line for my reactions during this S/Pro expedition. I will be throwing in a delay box into the mix; I have an old analog Dedenbear single (non-crossover) delay box. I'm going to use the box sporadically & under certain races. I still need to keep my competitors guessing. The main goal(s) is to still practice leaving off the bottom bulb without a box!

I do have some preliminary plans for my hold numbers for testing. Not sure how I'm going to share them!

2BKING, some may think I'm overthinking, but have you sat in the driver's seat in the Pro class of the Spring Fling Million? Smile
