Not all but a good part of it. Is it simply makes them feel better about themselves? If what they have is the greatest and only correct way of doing it. Now if someone else does it or god forbid does better with something other than what they use. Then it means they are not all they think they are.

Now I will say it is easier to go with a piece that works well for most all. Then where the hell is the fun in being like everyone else?

I think diversity is what makes bracket racing more fun. Every car/combonation is different. I bet any decent car could be disassembled by someone other than the owner and reassembled while fixing all the things that are "wrong" and the car would be awful. I find humor in that!

I agree with you and it's very possible that could happen.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Luck plays an important part in drag racing.

These ideas remind me of the year Blaine Johnson RIP qualified on the pole at the Gator Nationals in the Travers car before he had the Winston sponsorship. The car was as beat up looking as his fire suit, and he was pissing in the public restroom with the rest of us, I know because I talked with him while taking a piss.

I won't mention much about his hauler, I walked over and looked at it,,, clapped out!

All the establishment dorks he beat up on that weekend claimed he was lucky too LOL!!

How'd that work out for them? Not too damn good, it took Bernstein until the next to the final race to pass him for the NHRA championship the following season, and Indy was his last race.

It ain't how new and shiny they are, which determines anything.

Legend - Blaine Johnson

Why do so many hate original ideas?

Because they rely on authorities for their ideas.

This is the consensus reality. The consensus reality more than often has nothing to do with reality.

The clot shots are a classic example of this.

Something different scares some. I've never done what is "normal" but had an idea it'd work. What I run is different and kinda works, might be a bit slower but seems to get the job done at times.
