Dave, it was a little humor. These guys go out and build these huge motors that they can hardly slow down to run their class and then want nhra to lower the index is comical.

Need a like button on that. The guys who can run just under 8.90 and enjoy the class should upgrade because the internet says so.

Looks like there will be more cars in super street running big mph,s,being that super racers want to chase their competition on the most part,i dont have a horse in this race so don't really care ,but from what i have seen over the years, super street may have more racers than before.

Years ago one of the guys in SoCal ProGas found that a 2100 pound Super Gas car only needed 465 HP (probably a mild 454) to run the 9.90 index. These days most of the cars are using 540 (+) cubic inch engines in purpose built cars easily capable of running 8.50 and faster.

I realize that the NHRA is not going to lower the indexes, but it is an interesting discussion which seems to surface every Winter.

Don’t believe nothing should change in the super categories. Like others has stated, car count is not an issue. JMO

This thread was started before Coronavirus.

Now the indexes will be raised one second for all Super classes.

Super Comp 9.90
Super Gas 10.90
Super Street 11.90

Need to keep the costs down as much as possible now.
