I try to hit now and then but with all the rain and the other stuff I have not had a chance since Bristol---tired of hearing about IHRA as we got Galot running and Piedmont tore up. Go figure.

Yea Piedmont tore up **** sucks. Lot cheaper on me to run to peidmont and make fedw huits than Farmington. Plus easier for lasgt minuite lets just go tear some stuff up momement.LOL

I've been busy dealing with my wife's serious health issues, bad heart, then sciatica then the big one a TIA (Mini-Stroke) caused by a aneurism in her brain which could lead to a brain bleed. She is scheduled from an operation August 26 with no better than a 50% chance of surviving.

Everything else is on hold.

Bob, praying for complete healing for your wife. Hopefully this will be encouraging,,, I have a good friend who had a brain aneurysm several years ago. She wasn't in the greatest of health at the time, partially due to her love for wine and cigs. Emergency operation and got her squared away. She's doing great now. No more wine/cigs and is healthier than before. Not gonna sugarcoat it and say it was an easy ride for her, but good docs/nurses and learning to take care of herself has paid off well. I think this was 15+ years ago.

As for me... Been over here working hard to catch up after rain delays every day this week. Back hurts, knees hurt (one's semi-serious injured), hands hurt, feet hurt, shoulder hurts, head hurts. Only thing not hurting it seems, is my feelings. LOL.... Shoulda listened to the old folks when I was a teenager through early adulthood and learned to take better care of myself... All in all, I'm doing great.

Health issues must be in the air, 8 weeks ago I had quad heart bypass surgery, doc said I was a heart attack looking for a place to happen with 3 veins 80% blocked on one 70%. This past Monday I had a 2nd surgery to clean out my Carotid artery in my neck that was 80% blocked....

Same regular posters here, being pretty consistent. What I have noticed is a spike in guest; use to be well below 1,000 majority of the time, now it seems to be well over 1,000. Too bad we can't convert them to members, might be good but could be bad.

Hope your wife comes out ok Bob. Getting old IS a bi tch, ask me and Floyd at 85 years old. I have been blessed to be able to keep on going so far but with only a couple of exceptions. VA has good staff near by and they keep tabs on me pretty good. I must not forget the folks I have met on this site, I need you all as I check here nearly every day. And thanks to Scott for having me.

Sorry to hear so many having health issue. Was sitting here feeling like crap from stock market today. Hell that only mponey and easier to regroup on than health. Hope all get well or at least better.

As for ,e a stated I am sitting here trying to make a buck and loosing them faster than race car runs thru them. Hopefully turns for good for all of us.

Sold all my stuff. Everything. Too expensive to go much anymore. Car set for 2 years pickled. I got it out in Oct 2024 for a high school buddy reunion at the drag strip and made a couple hits. I've owned that car since 1992 when I was a senior so why not, right? Months later, it sold to some guy a few states off. Trailer needed rebuilt, car needed tens of thousands in updates to run IHRA (or NHRA for that matter), truck to pull it is wore out and giving me trouble, needed tires on the car, needed engine work (springs, retainers, freshen up the short block, etc)...just wasn't feasible to spend $100,000+ to go to the races 3 or 4x a year. I may pick something up someday in the future but right now with family, fresh marriage, health, and job related issues, the timing is all wrong to go racing. It's an expensive hobby for me and I'd liked to have run some HRA races BUT, it was just time to let it all go after 34 years. I don't miss it much either.

Im still here lurking, peeking around the corner keeping tabs on ya'll. Dont have much to add,as racing is just a memory now. With wifes health I cant stray ****her than the end of the driveway, and my wallet wont let me go much ****her than that either. I dont have anywhere to go anyway, so it dont matter much.So i'll be here, watching what everyone is doing and reminicing.

I'm now a care giver for my wife as she had a fall in 2023 with a brain injury that has caused a decline in her motor skills and speech.
I'm learning to cook, clean, shop, and assist her in a multitude of ways that need not be mentioned.
It's all worth it to me as we have been happily married for 30 years and we both meant it when we made the vow "for better or worse, in sickness and health".
As for racing there isn't much going on around here, too hot!
I bought a car with an engine I built over 20 years ago that had never been started. I dusted it off, checked everything and ran it on my engine break in stand and it responded like "where have you been"!
I might just have a little bit better bracket race motor for the Falcon.
Scott, I miss seeing you out there as You are one of the first people I met when I got started back in the 90's and your racing was always a family affair. I pray for you and your wife and hope the best for you!

Scott, that car was the last to go,all my toys are scattered now to the 4 winds. It ended up in Montana to my nephew,at least it is still in the family.

Dan, thanks you. I have been my wifes full time care giver for 3 years now. We, as you have had the health and better, now we are dealing with the sickness and worse. But she is still here, I can deal with what ever comes along.

Not racing hasnt sunk in yet, as I did race for the last time at the bracket nationals this past November and started selling everything in December, with the car being the last thing to go in March. It will probably hit home in September when racing starts up again, and im not at the track.

Up 10 torque and 20 hp average. Better but there is more…
