For me it would be two different times I can't choose between.

June of 2018 my oldest son and his two oldest sons were watching me race. We had a double race day and I won both races and gave the trophies to my grandsons.

August 2019 I won the footbrake race then won the King of the Track race. First time footbraking against S/P guys and I won it. That was a fun win.

I want to hear about that one time in 1995 when Special ED won a race. That was obviously Duck Pond History in the making and we all missed it.

Did NHRA and ESPN do a special on it?

Surely there must be something on it somewhere? I know there was postings on Numedia web site where ED ran a bunch of races and ALMOST made the team of 50 out 56 racers but I can not find anything about his huge win.

I mean he says it happened and he acts like it is a big deal. Like to hear a round by round replay of how it all went down. How his opponent broke and everything.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I've been chewed up by Jaws before! Bad dude! Saw some pics from Nahunta the other day. Car looks good.

I wish I could choose just one.

I won 2 $5k races (back when that was big money) where my opponent wouldn't split or move any money. I whacked em both and took the win both times.

Another was the NHRA Div 1 ROC at Cecil County Dragway. I'm .004 dead .005 to Ben Parks .009 dead .001. Had to go to Hershey and collect my Wally for that one.

King of the Track win at Mason Dixon was fun as well.

But my favorite was when my dad rode to the track with me after taking him to get chemo in the morning. I propped him up in front of the tower at our home track and won that day. I don't remember who I raced, just that he got to see and be with me in the winner circle.

The year the Ripper was down 23 rounds in Super Pro at Sunshine with 5 weeks-races left (35 rounds). winning three of the last four to win the 41 race Super Pro championship, including winning the final round of the final race to win it.

Reminded me of when Dyck Lahaie ran Joe Amato in Pomona for all the marbles NHRA Top Fuel, in the early 1990's, final round, final race.

Nobody will do squat about the constant garbage being spewed by the jerk. Maybe here will get attention.
If all they are worried about are forum hits, then that should get some more.
You can't ask a civil question anymore without BS appearing quickly.
Ignore doesn't work as there are people that continue to quote the idiot.

Showed up "a little late" to a $5K race, had to purchase an entry and a buyback to run Round 2, slapped a .007 pack on my first opponent, and went to the semi-finals that day.

Owner: "You know you won't get a time shot?"

Me: "Yeah, so how much, I gotta unload the car."

The last final Rd I was in 2017, which I was removed from and the other guy put back in 45 minutes after he loaded up, tied down and shut the door of the trailer.

Lets just say

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... I was in a final round of "Bracket 2" at Capitol Raceway in Crofton Maryland. Back then, there were no delay boxes. But they had already narrowed it down from four eliminators (NHRA Super Pro, Pro, Heavy, and Street) to two: Bracket 1 and Bracket 2. I suspect it must have been 1984, or very early in 1985. I estimate this, because I went into the Navy in August of 1985.

The win was most memorable due to my friends who offered me congratulations. That, and the fact that I basically disappeared shortly thereafter. I really, really wish I had been given a trophy for that win. It would, to this day, be among my most beloved possessions. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

While no one wants the discussion they started to turn into a train wreck, the reason for my reply to curly is. Curly is obviously trying to troll Ed into another thread to creat another argument/ train wreck. If Ed wants to reply he is welcome as anyone. I just want this discussion to remain civilized. I would hate to have to delete it.

I have enjoyed reading each of these stories. Some really great memories for those involved, and I thank you all for sharing them. Most of them I can sense and even feel a bit of the joy the authors take in recalling those moments. Hopefully the thread goes on undisturbed and collects some more great racing memories. If Wooley does not object, I'm sure most of the posters have some additional stories of memorable race days.

I think Curly just wants to hear about a race Ed won. I think you think, it's a bad idea for Curly to ask, because of Ed's history of turning the card table over, if he can't win.

It's either that or you know Ed has never won, which would then mean, Curly IS trolling Ed.

If anyone asked me or you, it's not trolling, is it?

Why is it trolling with Ed, then? It's not. I think Ed's history has you walking on eggshells.

I think Curly just wants to hear about it.

Certainly, Ed has won a race, hasn't he?

Soo, you have said something about it TWICE now. I respected your voice and left it alone. But now you bring it up AGAIN. Why? Sounds like you are trolling me. You do not want me responding then leave my name out of it. As for Train wrecks they will happen until problem is eliminated.
