Who knows? I bought some 1×4 pine at home depot that had stickers that said " imported from sweden". Why do we have to import pine boards.? A friend told me Monday his brother is having a house built in Florida, breaking ground this month. He locked his deal in last May,the contractor told him at current prices his house would be about 230k more.

In Colorado, a 4X8` sheet of OSB is $80 now. House build costs are going up about 35K at the moment. A house I`m working on the steel contractor guarantees his bid for only 24 hours. Just crazy how fast the build costs are increasing!

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Having to replace a building on a remote radio site. We are going with Insulated Concrete Form construction (ICF). Before all this craziness started with the lumber prices it was a bit more expensive. Now it is on par or cheaper.

COVID has been around for a year and half, prices on the everything went up in Feb. I think it is all because of the Democrats. In fact I think if the COVID had not been in an election year it would not have been a big deal at all.

I read an article and there are 5 major mills in the U.Sand Canada... There is not a wood shortage. In fact there is an abundance of wood. These major mills have jacked prices up in the name of covid. Loggers that supply the mills are getting ****ed also. They are getting the same price for a load of wood that they got 20 years ago. 1 of these mills had a net profit of 3 billion in 2019... In 2020 there net profit was 360 billion... At some point government needs to get involved. Price gouging at its best. There is NO WOOD SHORTAGE..

Heck I am general contractor and wanting to build shop next to house. Not happening anytime soon.
I have heard that there are train cars full of wood sitting. Key word heard. I do think it will come down.I do not think it will ever gat back to where it was by any means.

Why would they drop price back? We have shown them we will pay stupid ass price. Bad news is I predict alot of items will follow .

If you kill the economy enough that people have to rely on government handouts then government controls every part of your life and that is the goal of a lot of folks in office right now. Not just my opinion this time.

All my business friends can’t get laborers back because they are making more money with handouts. That’s the lumber industry too.

Ed, zero fucs given for your opinion. He didn't eat the cost,if you had a better level of comprehension you would understand, I said he locked his price in over a year ago.
