BKing, you should check out this distance sensor that you could use to control excessive wheelies programming in Holley. Glenn @ madracingparts can offer you advice on this and is great to work with. I’ve purchased from him in the past.

This laser sensor input setup is on the Holley pre-programmed drop down list in V6 for easy programming.

M&M,

Thanks for trying to help a guy out! My Sniper system/software is not as robust as its bigger brother. Although I did use the launch retard & front suspension changes to neuter the wheelies.

The car is not pitch rotating now & spins the tire at the hit. The 60' is all over the place from 1.336 to 1.380. The plan is to put more power to it by knocking the launch retard down to 1* during the run. The next track is at higher elevation than ours & will probably be able to use full timing out to the 60'.

Perhaps more anti-squat could be of help.

I will try to remember to post a pic tomorrow of the car launching. It shows about 3"s of separation between the rear tire & the fender lip from rest.

I'm trying to evaluate where I'm going with this car & the ET. The 5.90 1/8 mile set-up seems to be ideal for bracket racing & the cars platform.

For the past race(s) I added 1.5* of timing from 0.0 boost & above. The car was inconsistent with tripping the 60' with the front or rear tires; with low 1.30 60's with front tires & low 1.40's with rear tires. In hindsight I should have just left it alone, because I made it worse.

The current 5.70 tune can probably be made bracket race friendly with some more shock tuning & a rear anti-rollbar. I really think I'm asking a lot for this set-up.

It appears you have found added hp through the Inductive Delay correction. Should be able to return to prior tune through Launch Retard. Are you able to increase the rear tire size for help?

Sorry to say, I returned the inductive delay back to the original setting. I added the 1.5* timing to the tune I was comfortable with. I have one more race in Dec. & during the off season I'll correct the delay/timing table.

The tires are maxed out for width & RO for the wheel well.

Below is a pic of the launch on the second day of racing. The wheelies were manageable except for the inconsistent tripping the 60' timer with the front or rear tires. The front would rise about another 12" when the boost would come in.

2BKING thanks you for taking interest & your inputs.

For the first time in the 20+ years I have been attending this race, I got locked out of the pay window. Couldnt get past the third round each day, lights were 020's and under, spun two days in the third rd, gave the stripe back one day and just got beat by .0018 one day. Only positive side was I was able to save all my buyback money, and the car loaded on the trailer under its own power!

That's good to hear! Hope to be able to chat with you a little more.

I remember your last name but not your first name?

I didn't realize that we were parked so close together until Sunday afternoon. I was going to stop by and say goodbye, but you had already left when we came back from watching the finals.
That's a nice looking truck and trailer that you have.
