Well, I have just installed my first ever car lift. I knew it would be awesome, but I just didn't know how awesome. My wife bought me the lift for my birthday and I will be the first to tell you I married way over my head. The last several days I have been cleaning under the car and doing touch up painting that I was never really able to do. I look forward to many simpler tasks in the years to come. LC

I bought a 4 post lift mainly to save floor space for more cars. So nice to have you will love it. ![]() https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. It is just the picture, the posts are vertical. I would not have my Babies on something like that. Thank you for the kind words Sir. Get what ever type lift works best for you. The 2 posts are good for doing suspension work and would have been nice for my Chevy 11 when I changed rear gears. The tires are so big you have to remove rear shocks and lift body / drop rear end way down to get rear tires off. Can not do that on a 4 post lift for sure. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. BTW Curly, I thought of you last week! Owners Brian/ Ben of Hi Tech Fire Apparatus Oakdale Ca stopped by. We’re building an original 69 302 marching numbers car with Brian. At lunch we were talking rigs… they are building four Breathing Air rigs. Boy have things changed! And expensive!!! Facility is massive. I’ll text ya California Screaming! I was only able to have one lift as I have an attached garage and not an outbuilding like many others. The race car is always on top of it during the race season. I chose 10k# and no regrets. ![]()

Nice! How high is your peak Mark? I spec’d 12’ walls 15’8”peak California Screaming! Raceless in California!

The garage is 32.5’ wide with a 6/12 pitch. I put a 22’ addition out the front making it 46’ deep, modified the trusses to get 144” to the opening top and lift is 142” tall. Was limited to 8’ tall overhead doors, but figured out how to get a 99” tall trailer inside for the winter with race car loaded.

Mark is that why there are no tires on the trailer rims

^^^^^ Yes, I had the steel rim bead lips machined off so it rolls on the flat area of the rim to allow clearing the overhead door opening by just over 1”. Once inside I jack the trailer up unloading the suspension and place blocks under the axles.

Very interesting.... | |||

Do you put anything on floor to not mess it up think I would cut up some old slicks and glue them on the rims but that’s a great idea

DRR S/Pro |
Used a 4x8’ plywood sheet 1/4” thick and ripped it into 4 – 1’ wide strips. Move 8’ at a time with rims on plywood. ![]()
