I cam across a great deal on an altered but know nothing about them. I’ve in seen a few up close. I love the look but wonder if they make good consistent cars? I was told it’s 1800lbs. Being that light it won’t take much power to run and should be easy on parts

Is it a hard tail with no front suspension? If I were looking at an altered suspended would definitely be my choice. Is this going to be a super pro car?

I have been bracket racing an Altered for years. I can dial off the trailer with the best of them. By the way, mine is a hard tail, and my opinion is that suspension is for the return road. Easy to work on, you don't need a big garage or trailer, I haul mine in a 20Ft'er and have plenty of room for everything else. I would encourage you to go for it you will be grinning from ear to ear. After all, who can tell one pipe rack from another.... LOL.... PM me and I will send you some pic's

It’s a 4 link car. Beautiful car. I can’t figure out how to post a picture here. Anyone know how?

I would agree with Dawg on everything but the hard tail just because a couple tracks I race on are a little rough.

Lightweight is much easier to go fast with that is for sure.

This is it. Four link suspension with call overs in the front. I’m hoping I am calling it the right thing by calling it an altered

Roadster! Left hand drive. I like it. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Thank you! Do they make good bracket cars? $8000 turn key seams like a steal

It absolutely can make a good bracket car. Really, it's got all the same parts a door car has underneath. 4 link, shocks, struts, etc. So why not? The biggest negative in my opinion is the dirty body lines. They can be tricky to dial in the wind. Take good notes, and learn to pay close attention, and you will be fine.
Enjoy your new ride! It looks sharp!

I have ran an altered in brackets and done quite well with it. Went some rounds and won some races. A door car is easier to get in and out of and easier to block the sun when it is near the tree but other than that they are great. They are light and so you are right it does not take as much power to run good.
I do recommend a four link rear and if it has strut suspension up front even better but not required.
If you get it and need any help setting it up or any questions just ask. Be glad to help.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.
