Just for the shop, 46 gallons of LP to make it from May to December, 81 gallons dropped Tuesday that I think will get me to March? I had figured the LP deal would cost me $600-$800 per season to maintain the shop in the upper 40's. Keep the shop at 40 during this cold. Just enough to keep the chemicals from freezing. I don't want to hear about the Gas company's estimated reads. Which is BS. Had it out with them 3 times. 1.5 years ago i shut off the meter out side and still got a bill for $52.00. Deliver charge My *** | |||

I cut the thermostats back to 70 and 72 degrees. I have 2 furnaces. Dec bill was 253 and Jan bill was 319 with less usage. | |||

I am either really lucky or really naive when it comes to my utilities. Ever since I have been bombarded with solar salesmen, I have been keeping closer records on what I spend on power etc. I spend $.12 per kwh on power and have for at least the last 12 years, so my bill is all on me as how much it costs, as the price never changes. Gas is dependent on usage, in the summer it costs almost $2.00 per therm, in the winter it costs $.80 Water on the other hand is a different story. I used to pay $1.00 per thousand gallons, now I pay over $8.00 per thousand. And I attribute that to living in the desert where we have no water. | |||

Only time I buy Propane is to fill my Motorhome tank or a BBQ cylinder I carry as a backup. Only one place around has the adapters and can fill my MH and they charge $5.50 a gallon ! I drove around to every place near home that sells propane but no other place wants to deal with MH's..... | |||

None of those anywhere near me.... There are some places along the roads to some tracks I go to but it's more of a hassle to stop at those places with a trailer in tow My MH tank refill is usually $30-$40 so it's not really a big deal.....Just the per gallon price is high..... I pay for the convenience gladly....It's 10 minutes from home.... | |||

This is an issue for me also. I ended up just removing my propane tank and carrying gas grill cylinders. WAY easier to fill/swap and can be done without taking the mh. | |||

I'm single so I have no one to answer to, or more importantly don't have to listen complain. Set mine at 58* during the day, but with register manipulation it's 61 or 62 in the main living quarters and cooler in the bedrooms. Set mine back to 52* or so at night. Keep it set at 64 - 65* when I have company. I will have triple digit gas bills in the peak (2 or 3) winter months but don't like to see it. OKC water cost is stair stepped, you have the allotment they think you should use, if you abuse that and go over they have a couple of "punishment" rates. A pseudo social credit score type of thing. Generally the more you buy the cheaper it gets, not with monopoly utilities / government. Speaking of social credit scores, did you know that banks have an ESG score? That's Environmental Social & Governance score. Anyone doubting social credit scores are coming for the individual would do well to do some research. China has it. "The 20th century was the American century, the 21st century is the Chinese century". I heard, don't know for sure if it's true, but the Chinese are required to carry their phones with them at all times. Allegedly if one comes in close proximity of someone with a poor score, that person's phone sounds an alarm to warn others to avoid that individual. Ripley's believe it or not. I have my heat on 71--never change it even when I am gone for a week. Like gas or diesel, if I want to ride I got to pay no matter the price and I like to ride. In the summer the a/c is on 68. | |||
