Does anyone know about this car on racingjunk, ad # 184119872

He ran at Wilkesboro the past few years , I didn't see him much in 2020. Talked to him last year and he said he was building a new engine for it. I think Wideopen on DRR little brother has ran it some.

I don't but for $5k as a roller what do you expect you'd be buying?

If its jeff's hardtail. It is good car consistent. Not latest and greatest but it has won few race or two and lots of rounds. Check pm.

it's almost 2021, no one wants a hardtail for bracket racing and that's why the asking price is $5k for the roller. If you buy it, do so assuming you'll never sell it.

car is very consistent and yes it will not ride like your cadilac down rough track that is total of about 3/4 of mile round trip. pm sent with Jeff's number.

no dragster rides like a Hyundai no mind a Cadillac. it's all about being able to get down poorly prepped and bumpy tracks round after round consistently.

For 13,500 turnkey wouldn't be bad for someone just wanting to get their feet wet. A nice starter car.

That’s still a hardtail.

They work great on most tracks. If it fits the budget, it’ll most likely be just fine. Won’t be easy to sell but getting in at $5k, I don’t think you’d lose much either.

I have the hardtail in my avatar for sale in the classified section here on DRR. It is in great condition and a very good car. It is a roller but has much more with it.

Agree with 1320 racer. BUT won alot of money with a couple of solid Nelson Racecrafts. Most races are 1/8 mile loose converter and a giving side wall tire will do wonders,and weight in the nose. Again as 1320 racer stated might be something hard to sell when done with it. But its only 5000. dollars and if things go your way you might win 10,-20-50 thousand over the next season or two. Check for cracked up rights after the foot box. Not a hard fix. The more flex the more chance of cracking so keep and eye on it

5K roller is cheap --- Also thats what I sold my 02 hardtail for last summer, I bought it for the motor and trans that I swapped into my Nova. Took a while to sell (eventually trade) the Hardtail dragster, but at the end of the day I figured if I didn't sell it I could part it out for what I had in the roller. Then I was going to scrap the chassis or keep it for projects I needed tubing for.

Remember that everyone telling you hardtails aren't worth much is correct....but also this should work in your favor when you're buying it!

HR3377 Did you acqiue the car yet. I raced hard tail 1994 to 98 then went to swing arm. Most all the races were 1/4 mile then. I did not have much problem with being consistant with those cars.BUT had to pay attention in the shut down and driving the stripe. At 165 plus mph you did not want to start bouncing when getting on the brakes. That was 20 plus years ago.With tires we have now and converter advances, and most races are 1/8 mile those cars would be even better than they were.As you said top fuel is solid so whats the big deal.Just pay attention and be aware you cant just stand on the brakes at high speed like in a suspended car and you will have no problem.
