"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Pretty sure that's not an official announcement.

It's a mockery of the class & well deserved. The majority of the class/racers are stuck on themselves as not being bracket racers.

This did not come from NHRA. Bogus. NHRA already made its announcement. 64 car field for TS/TD at divisionals and 32 for nationals and lower minimum dials. Yes, it is a bracket race.

Not even April 1st. Lol, No purse, no points, no Championship.

Reading the posts a lot of people obviously believed it. Do not know who made that up. I guess with NHRA's history many fell for it.

I don't know any TD racers who think it isn't bracket racing. Nor have I ever heard one say that. Can you point to someone?

I stated majority & should have said a good many. There's a reason(s) why that AI generated announcement was posted. 1st, I think it's funny & a mockery of TD. 2nd, some take the attitude like the quote below; I guess you have to run a certain ET to be considered TD.

"I would love to see fast fields. I honestly thought I was going to have to turn my stuff up and go 3.80s to be a for sure qualifier at ihra when they announced the purses. Hell they can't even get 32 players and most of the cars are bracket cars."

I've asked a couple of TD racers if they thought of themselves as bracket racers. The answer was we race TD, I guess they skirted around the bracket part. I should have known better to ask, after asking a different NHRA class racer/friend about the same subject. I thought my friend was going to throw down on me.

I think I get it but maybe not. They spend a lot of time, money & effort into going fast; I respect that! I still think the mockery is well deserved & that's just my opinion.

If enough fast cars would bother to show up to any particular race, the "problem" would solve itself.

That is so true but they sure get upset if you say that.
