I truly feel bad for the driver. I can't even imagine.

Does anyone know if this was a converter car or clutch? I guess it doesn't really matter because it's easy to sit in my cool office and soft chair and second guess everything, I just wonder though. It happened so fast. These cars we race will get any of us in trouble in a heartbeat and it's so easy to get complacent.

What we do is dangerous and yes, sometimes people die and not always the driver. I would just like to know how/why it went WFO in reverse.

On the video it clearly looked like the butterflies do NOT go wide open. Could not see them move at all but something obviously happened and we would all like to know how.

I have seen two different videos of it and the one they pulled down was very clear.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I posted what was said about how it happened above. There was a pic that showed the hole.

A bolt that hold the blower hat to the blower case backed out and went down into the rotors and blew a hole in the case right next to the barrel valve. Besides a huge vacuum leak, it supposedly pulled the throttle. What are the chances of something like that ever happening again.
