The only permit we need is a check paid to the builder Smile

Yet you're making an investment in Newsomland (and Kamal-toe is next!)??? There will be a breaking point, good luck.

When I built mine the only permit that would be required was for a septic system if I put one in and I did not so no permit needed!!

We are in a rural area with a clear water system. The commode is plumbed into that, and the utility sink stubbed through the wall until the dirt trimming and cleaning are finished. Then it will be run onto the yard with a perforated pipe. 99% of all my "stuff" is in the building. Gradually being sorted and organized so work can resume.

KT doesn’t stand a chance. The Teflon Don is in your neck o d woods posturing. Gavin is good for nothing. Building a shop just raises the sale value to over 1.5 shortly. People here are fed up with the current administration. The cities are full of them but out in the country is not!
What’s keeping us here is mom and Grandkids.

That is the good news for sure. It gives residences that do move huge leverage when moving to other less inflated housing markets. Bucky has raised the same sentiment about rural folks in Illinois. However your continuing tax dollars does feed the beast. I understand your position and sincerely wish you the best.

I have a 5 ton unit in my 40x60 shop, with 1" foam board insulation on the walls and 16" blown in the ceiling. To much area to really get cool, but I can take a 100* day down to 80* or so. Makes it workable. A fan to help circulate air helps a lot as well..

Lookin Good, Larry..

Let me make a suggestion. I have 3 air filters around the base and they get pretty dirty pretty fast.
But that may be because I do a lot of grinding and such..

So if you are just going to use one in the base be sure to check it often..

Dave, I like the idea of foam board. I considered spray but don't like the look. The insulation installed by the builder is very thin so I expect more will be needed. How do you attach the foam board? What size are the sheets?

If yours is the type that's covered in plastic. Keep an eye on it. I had two friends that had that kind and the Texas heat deteriorated it till it was coming apart. The company ended up paying them for replacement. Both went with foam board after wards.

Mine has two 12 inch 90* ducts pointing out into the shop. I wanted ducts running the length of the wall with outlets every so often but ended up with that, nice pressure so it blows pretty good. May still go with ducts later but so far what I have is working.

Mine is 4x8x 1 inch thick I used Foam Board Nails
Instead of nailing them I took the nail out and used a drywall screw.
