IHRA switched Stock, SS, Comp and all .90 classes back to 1/4 mile. TD,TS and the pro classes will run 1/8th mile

And where are all these 1/4 mile tracks? I race all over and haven't ran a 1/4 mile in at least 25 years. Of course I don't fool with NHRA tracks other than some bracket races and they are all 1/8.

This seems nonsensical. Datacenters need access to power and water - and willing local governments to allow their construction. xAI announced last week expansion of their facilities south of the Tennessee border in Mississippi to the tune of 20 billion dollars in investment. They are building out on the space of an existing but non operational powerplant that they will operate themselves. This also allows them to tap into the Memphis aquifer with much less resistance like they have currently in Memphis from their existing operations near Presidents Island. They don't need IHRA to clandestinely buy up old racetracks as cover for datacenters. Also this fear that IHRA "buying up tracks for them to close suddenly" is also blind. Please tell me what racing was going on in Memphis or Topeka recently?

Those area I guess wouldn’t have much to lose. The rest of us certainly would. I hope that the concern that it is speculative purchases is unwarranted Foxtrot Juliet Bravo

If….Elon is involved I don’t get that warm and fuzzy feeling. Big money is after bigger money. AI says Musk is not involved. California Screaming! Raceless in California!

The guys over there are always, "the sky is falling"! Billy Nees comes up with some out there ideas many times from what I have read. Class racers complain constantly about being treated as second class and want more payout. An organization comes along and says, "okay we will pay twice what you're used to and treat you with respect". Class racers: we won't because you're second tier, we can't race 1/8 mile, we are afraid you will suddenly end your organization, we, we, we etc, etc, etc,...... They make bracket racers sound like they are the easiest group ever to get along with.

Curtis, if you had a car that slow you wouldn’t race 1/8 either! Yes! Some sound like a small block at 9500! Pitiful. Pretty much why I left there. California Screaming! Raceless in California!

Sorry Barry, I shouldn't have thrown all of y'all under the same bus. LOL Not everyone over there is like that but there sure are a lot of them.

like i said just different thoughts/perspective . Does not affect me here in Oz . I only wish we could have 1/2 the prizemonies available to your racing . And maybe a couple more tracks closer to home . But we have way less racers so unlikely to occur. Curtis , you forgot " they have the wrong trophy" . Now that sounds like Oz. Tex

The official schedule was released today, 11 total Outlaw Nitro events, Memphis is in Sept and Topeka in Oct. They better get busy, especially on Memphis since every building has to be leveled and rebuilt. Not sure on the current condition of Topeka https://www.facebook.com/photo...et=a.620131410161754

I think speculation is over. IHRA has made the commitments, posted the guaranteed money and treat racers as customers. One "little thing" on that subject. I contacted IHRA about the Summit Super Series number I got for last year to race at Humbolt County Dragway ET Finals. I asked for #174, they issued me that number. Last week I asked if I could change that number to 175. Their response, no problem. They sent me my new ET number ID card. At 75 years old, I like the last two numbers to be my age, tape the "1" off when I double and all is GOOD! Thank you IHRA for "UNDERSTANDING BRACKET RACERS". It is a simple click on the computer. If I had asked NHRA I think I am right in saying "fogetaboutit"! IHRA is doing things NEVER seen in drag racing before. I hope it continues and grows the sport for the next generation. Jok
