This seems nonsensical. Datacenters need access to power and water - and willing local governments to allow their construction. xAI announced last week expansion of their facilities south of the Tennessee border in Mississippi to the tune of 20 billion dollars in investment. They are building out on the space of an existing but non operational powerplant that they will operate themselves. This also allows them to tap into the Memphis aquifer with much less resistance like they have currently in Memphis from their existing operations near Presidents Island. They don't need IHRA to clandestinely buy up old racetracks as cover for datacenters.

Also this fear that IHRA "buying up tracks for them to close suddenly" is also blind. Please tell me what racing was going on in Memphis or Topeka recently?

Yes! Some sound like a small block at 9500! Pitiful. Pretty much why I left there.
