‘Culture of Corruption’ boomerangs on Democrats as scandals blossom nationwide

The Democratic Party is battling scandals from New York to San Diego and from city hall to Capitol Hill, as the party finds itself on the defensive over embarrassing lapses ranging from sexual misconduct to multiple scandals ensnaring the Obama administration.

President Obama on Wednesday denounced what he called “phony scandals” and “an endless parade of distractions” blocking progress on the economy and other issues, but critics say the controversies underscore the missed opportunities for the president and his party to live up to pledges to clean up politics and break traditional patterns of money, influence and privilege in government.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are 'livid' at comparisons to Weiner’s sexcapades and Huma’s forgiveness
Bill and Hillary Clinton are angry with efforts by mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner and his campaign to compare his Internet sexcapades — and his wife Huma Abedin’s incredible forgiveness — to the Clintons’ notorious White House saga, The Post has learned.

“The Clintons are upset with the comparisons that the Weiners seem to be encouraging — that Huma is ‘standing by her man’ the way Hillary did with Bill, which is not what she in fact did,’’ said a top state Democrat.

Top 5 Hillary Gaffes You Won't See in Upcoming Clinton Miniseries

•Those Imaginary chats with Eleanor Roosevelt - This one seems like a visual slam dunk, the sight of the First Lady having tea with a former First Lady--in her mind, at least. Imaginary conversations wouldn't help Clinton's image, so these chit-chats will have to go.

•The Reset Button - The so-called smartest politician in the world reached out to Russia with a gimmick so silly Carrot Top would hurl it back into his prop trunk. She brought a red "reset" button to her meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as a way to distance herself from past negative vibes. Too bad she didn't bring her English to Russian dictionary along since she bungled the translation. The moment wasn't just embarrassing on the surface. Her button malfunction also signaled how she would undercut our allies in the region.

•"Under Sniper Fire" - Clinton tried to burnish her tough gal image with a fictitious story in which she was in danger from sniper fire during a 1996 trip to Bosnia. Clinton repeated the tale several times before admitting her landing reception wasn't quite so deadly.

•"What Difference ... Does It Make?" - Clinton's infamous reaction to a line of questioning regarding the death of four Americans in Benghazi is a portrait of clinical indifference, and a quote that would haunt the rest of her political career had a Republican uttered it in that context.

•"Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" - Clinton uttered this defense of her philandering husband, President Bill Clinton, as the Monica Lewinksy scandal was finding its legs. She blamed the rumor of her husband's unfaithfulness on his political enemies, the so-called "vast right wing conspiracy" committed to ruining his career. This moment might make the final cut, if only put in the context of Republicans using her husband's infidelities as a weapon against him. As if Democrats would do no such thing.

Anthony Weiner: Who needs the Clintons?

'I am not terribly interested in what people who are not voters in the city of New York have to say,' Weiner said in response to a question about whether the former president and ex-secretary of state, who live in Westchester County, could influence his decision.
Even the Clintons can’t convince

Reid gives Senate lecture on civility

The Democratic honcho who spent the last several days ridiculing House Speaker John Boehner as a pawn of the Tea Party gave his own chamber a lecture on civility Friday.

Senate Majority Harry Reid, in an unusual aside in the midst of a tense debate over the budget impasse, took to the floor to remind lawmakers about the rules of decorum. Guidance like: Senators should not address each other by their first names, they should address each other in the third person ... and so on.

"We all have to understand that these rules create a little bit of distance so senators are more likely to debate ideas and less likely to talk about personalities," Reid said. "And if we do that, we maintain a more civil decorum as a result. So I bring this matter to the attention of senators because we've fallen out of this habit. It's gotten worse the last month or so."

The reminder comes after Reid spent Thursday taunting Boehner as a coward who is singlehandedly keeping the partial government shutdown in force.

The RNC has been in debt for a long time and finally they pooled together enough to pay off a 24 million dollar debt, thank to Romney failed campaign and others.

The wealthy repubs finally opened up their wallets.

I'm sure the repubs in these topics have pooled enough of their money for the RNC to buy them a cup of coffee.
