Despite the support of both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, Marjorie Margolies, Chelsea Clinton’s mother-in-law, has lost her Democratic primary bid for the Congress. At 37, Boyle, a state legislator, is 15 years younger than his next-youngest opponent. His campaign raised the least amount of money. He lacked his opponents’ powerful connections to political establishment. And yet, he just beat the Clinton family at its own game. It looks like the Clintons have lost their selling power. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/l...ngressional-district

Some of Hillary Clinton's closest aides blasted the New York Times for what they said was unfair coverage of the former first lady during a recent secret meeting with the paper's Washington bureau, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. Sources said the meeting included Clinton advisers Philippe Reines and Huma Abedin, as well as Times Washington bureau chief Carolyn Ryan and national political reporter Amy Chozick, who has been on the Clinton beat for the paper. During the closed-door gathering, Clinton aides reportedly griped about the paper's coverage of the potential 2016 candidate, arguing that Clinton has left public office and not be subjected to harsh scrutiny, according to a source familiar with the discussions. Hillary Clinton’s eagerly awaited memoir of her four years as secretary of state, “Hard Choices,” hits bookstores on Tuesday. And the hard choices Clinton recounts extended to what she chose to focus on in the 635-page tome: She writes in detail about the election of Iranian President Hasan Rouhani, which happened after she left State, but pays only fleeting attention to the Edward Snowden leaks and NSA spying controversy, which also came a few months after her departure. 10 key passages in Hillary Clinton’s book Augusta Warrior Project Gpa

Hillary Clinton: We Were Dead Broke Hillary Clinton, who recently raked in $5 million dollars in speaking fees in 15 months, recounted to Diane Sawyer the sad tale of her former destitution, telling her, “We came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.” According to Clinton, she and her husband, who has made over $100 million since leaving the White House, “struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy.” But, as Clinton’s story goes, the two hard-working, middle-class millionaires somehow managed to put food on the table in their multiple houses, even though they “had to make double the money, because of, obviously, taxes, and then pay off the debts and get us houses and take care of family members.” Although Sawyer wondered if Americans would understand why Hillary Clinton needs a speaking fee of $200,000, “five times the median income in this country for one speech”, Clinton assured her that she’s taking the high road: “I thought making speeches for money was a much better thing than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.”

Hillary hustles to halt fallout from ‘dead broke’ Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was forced to explain — and recast — what she meant when she complained of her family’s financial struggles after leaving the White House. The subject was broached on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” when host Robin Roberts asked Mrs. Clinton if she could understand America’s head-scratching reaction to her claim that the Clintons were “dead broke” upon leaving the White House and needed to hit the lucative speaking circuit to build their bank accounts. Her speaking fees sometimes hit the $200,000 level, while Bill Clinton routinely pockets $500,000 per 45-minute pep talk. The backtracking begins: Augusta Warrior Project Gpa

Most politicians would kill for a 54 percent favorability rating, but for the 2016 Democratic frontrunner the number is a troubling sign. As Hillary Clinton’s campaign blitz surrounding her latest book drags on amid gaffes and fudgy facts, her previously stratospheric ratings have begun to slide. A new Gallup poll shows Clinton down a dozen points since leaving her post as secretary of state, with a 5-point drop since February. Partly that is because Clinton’s candidacy is forcing perceptions through a more partisan prism and partly because she is disappointing the massive expectations she and her campaign organization have created for her. [Senator Lincoln sure had a nice bedroom at the White House - During a speech in Chicago, Hillary Clinton botched the bio of the greatest Illinoisan. “A senator from Illinois ran against a senator from New York… Just as had happened way back with a senator from Illinois named [Abraham Lincoln] and a senator from New York named [William] Seward.” One would think that for all of the 2016 frontrunner’s experience with Lincolnalia, she would know that Lincoln never served in the Senate.] Foreign affairs - Another big factor is surely the unraveling of the foreign policy she claims to have restored after the failures of the Bush administration. Clinton’s book, which seeks to tie off the many loose ends from her largely unaccomplished tenure as Secretary of State, comes just as the foreign policy she helped craft is going through a series of painful, frightening reversals. The rise of Putinist Russia and the descent of Syria were bad enough, but now the outrage over the effort to placate the Taliban in Afghanistan with an unauthorized prisoner release and the aggressive resurgence of al Qaeda are making matters tougher. And with Clinton refusing to provide her personal notes to the committee investigating wrongdoing before and after the 2012 Islamist raid on a State Department outpost in Benghazi, Libya, one gets the sense that Clinton’s fight over her foreign policy record is ramping up, not winding down. Rand rips Hillary’s Taliban stand - “Hillary Clinton is now saying that, ‘Oh, you know what? The Taliban is not a danger to Americans.’ That’s about as ludicrous of a statement as I’ve heard. But the interesting thing is about one in three of the prisoners that have been released in the past have gone back to committing violence. ” HILLARY: THE MORE THEY SEE HER, THE LESS THEY LIKE HER Augusta Warrior Project Gpa This message has been edited. Clintons 'dead broke' after White House? Actually, they earned over $12M that year As Hillary Clinton backpedaled this week on comments that she and Bill Clinton were "dead broke" after leaving the White House, financial disclosure forms shed more light on just how shaky that claim really was. Technically, Bill and Hillary Clinton were in debt when they left the White House. Financial forms filed for 2000 show assets between $781,000 and almost $1.8 million -- and liabilities between $2.3 million and $10.6 million, mostly for legal bills. But as the outgoing first couple, they had tremendous earning potential. And within just one year, their financial troubles were effectively gone. $200,000-per-speech speaking fees Augusta Warrior Project Gpa This message has been edited. The Clinton Costco circus How Pro and Anti-Clinton advocacy groups took over a suburban warehouse store Somewhere in between the stacked boxes of laminate flooring and the discount pots and pans, it hit me: This Virginia Costco, where hundreds of people lined up half a mile from the Pentagon Saturday morning for the chance to meet Hillary Clinton, is the best symbol of the upcoming 2016 presidential election I’ve yet seen. The throngs of people were officially there for Clinton to sign their discount copies of “Hard Choices,” the former Secretary of State’s book about her time in the Obama administration. In reality, Clinton herself was the least visible part of the whole, circus-like event. The average Costco patron couldn’t even sneak a glimpse of her, as her book signing took place behind a giant fortress of water bottles and paper towel rolls, built by Costco employees using forklifts in the wee hours of Saturday morning. All that traveled over that bulk-product brick wall was the occasional laugh — was it Clinton’s? Or someone else’s? It was hard to know for sure — and the sound of clicking press cameras. Clinton fans weren’t allowed to bring theirs past the security checkpoint. Meanwhile, outside the fortress Augusta Warrior Project Gpa

Hillary’s book tour from Hell: ‘Broke’ comment, As soon as her new book hit store shelves Tuesday, Hillary Rodham Clinton became one of Twitter’s biggest punch lines, mocked for her claim she and her husband were penniless when they exited the White House in 2001. But the furor over the Clintons’ supposed financial problems — the subject of a #HillaryIsSoPoor Twitter movement, complete with clever one-liners and photos of the couple’s impressive mansion — likely is just the tip of the iceberg, as Mrs. Clinton’s re-emergence in the public eye surely will fuel debate over the Benghazi affair and the broader issue of her time as secretary of state. NPR flap likely tip of iceberg Publishing Source: Hillary Book a 'Bomb' In an email this evening, a veteran publishing source calls the latest Hillary Clinton book, Hard Choices, a memoir of her State Department years, a "bomb." The source is referring to the early but underwhelming sales figures. "Between us, they are nervous at S&S [Simon & Schuster]," says the source, who gave permission for his email to be published. "Sales were well below expectations and the media was a disaster." According to this source, a Simon & Schuster insider, "They sold 60,000 hard covers first week and 24,000 ebooks." The publishing house was "hoping and praying for 150,000 print first week." "The 60k represents a less than 10% sell thru based on what they shipped," says the source. It's been reported that one million copies of Clinton's book were shipped weeks before the June 10 publication date. "They will be lucky to sell 150,000 total lifetime," the source writes in the email. Hillary reportedly received a near-$14 million advance, a sum the publishing house will unlikely make back. "It's a bomb but it will be interesting to see how they spin it." Augusta Warrior Project Gpa This message has been edited. Last edited by: Grandma / Gpa,
