OBAMA EXPLOITS DOMESTIC CRISES BUT FALLS BACK ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS
A president famous for exploiting domestic crises takes the opposite approach when it comes to international troubles. At home, it is “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” With national security, though, it is “Don’t do stupid s--t.” There are plenty of explanations, positive and negative, for why President Obama is audacious on domestic policy and political theater but prefers to play a prevent defense on the world stage. But the difference is certainly stark. Why?

The president has been known to cancel trips and remake his schedule because of fights over spending and taxes, but not so on foreign policy matters. Thursday’s remarkable three-way split screen of the wreckage of the jetliner downed in Ukraine, tanks rolling in Gaza and there, in the third box, the president holding photo-ops in Delaware before heading to fundraisers in New York was the latest and most astonishing example. But it is standard procedure for this president. Whether it was the Fort Hood shooting, the Benghazi attacks, the border crisis or now this, Obama has often declined to alter his schedule when it comes to confronting major domestic or international concerns.

The president’s defenders say that it is because he is trying to project unruffled, resolute and cool leadership. That he won’t be dictated too. Fine. But acting nonchalant doesn’t necessarily send the right messages to people who wish to harm us. Whatever it does to international optics, though, there is a deliberate domestic angle. For a president who has so often been criticized for a confused and ineffective foreign policy, he does not want to give his rivals the satisfaction of making him react to their barbs. In the ongoing border crisis, the president’s team has boasted that Obama would not have his schedule dictated by his critics and be forced to visit the U.S.-Mexico frontier.

After last week, there can be little doubt about Obama’s motives in slogging through his public schedule and campaign events on Thursday. Having come under blistering criticism from both parties for refusing to do inconvenient photo ops or making lots of time for politically useful appearances, one would have to suppose that this choice was rooted in stubborn defiance of his detractors. Isn’t it ironic? The president is in his own way being dictated to by others since he denies himself the seemingly appropriate and politically advantageous responses in order to spite his critics. Perhaps the president has become a prisoner of his own brand.

A PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR
Fort Hood - In November of 2009 after reports surfaced of a deadly attack at Ft. Hood, Texas, President Obama proceeded with remarks at an Interior Department meeting of American Indian tribal leaders. Obama famously did not make mention of the attack until after three minutes of jovial remarks.

Benghazi – On the day four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador, were killed in Libya, President Obama appeared at a Las Vegas fundraiser at which he devoted about four minutes to the raid. Before he started his prepared remarks, similar to Thursday’s speech, Obama took a brief moment to acknowledge “the tough day we had today” saying “We are mindful of their sacrifice…We want to send our heartfelt prayers to their loved ones.” Obama continued his campaign tour with a trip to swing state Colorado and a speech the following day.

Syria - Immediately following President Obama’s decision in September to scrap airstrikes against the regime of Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad as a punishment for gassing civilians, the president played a round of golf at Fort Belvoir.

Illegal immigrant influx - Last week, amid the calls for action for the president to address the influx of illegal immigrants crossing the border, he side stepped the pleas during a Texas fundraising swing. Although President Obama did decide to meet with Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, about the current situation, immediately after the meeting the president headed to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser in Dallas and then a Democratic National Committee event in Austin.

U.S. sales to Russia have only risen since sanctions imposed

WASHINGTON — In the months since the United States imposed sanctions on Russian businesses and close associates of President Vladimir Putin’s, an odd thing has happened: U.S. exports to Russia have risen.
U.S. sales to Russia have only risen

The United States and the European Union hit Russia with new sanctions Tuesday, as they escalated a major diplomatic battle with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The new penalties are designed to "increase the pressure on Russia" to stop support of separatist violence in Ukraine, President Obama said at the White House.

Russian official burns Obama with Putin-leopard pic

It's come to this.

Russia is turning to Twitter to drop a sissy bomb on President Obama, using photos to challenge the manliness of America's commander in chief, while pumping up their main man, President Vladimir Putin.

The post by Russia's deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin included side-by-side images of the two presidents. In one, Putin is confidently holding a majestic leopard. In the other, a notably younger Obama is holding a small, fluffy dog.

"We have different values and allies."
No mention of the fluffy dog picture.

Anybody who voted for this pathetic, inept, gutless fool of a president the first time around owes every other American an apology.
Anybody who voted for him the second time around should be convicted of either treason or criminal insanity and deported to northern Iraq.
Impeach Obama now!

ne day in the future, Barack Obama has a heart-attack and dies.
He immediately goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him.
"I don't know what to do here," says the devil. "You are on my list, but I have no room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a couple of folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves."
Obama thought that sounded pretty good, so the devil opened the door to the first room. In it was Ted Kennedy and a large pool of water. Ted kept diving in, and surfacing, empty handed. Over, and over, and over he dived in and surfaced with nothing. Such was his fate in hell.
"No," Obama said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long."
The devil led him to the door of the next room.
In it was Al Gore with a sledge-hammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time.
"No, this is no good; I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day," commented Obama.
The devil opened a third door. Through it, Obama saw Bill Clinton, lying on the bed, his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best.
Obama looked at this in shocked disbelief, and finally said, "Yeah man, I can handle this."
The devil smiled and said............
(This is priceless...)
"OK, Monica, you're free to go."

Pretend to Give a Damn Until You Don't Have To–
For years, commentators have attempted to peg down just what the Obama Doctrine is. His allies have labeled the Obama Doctrine a form of realism about the limits of American power. His critics have labeled the Obama Doctrine “leading from behind.”

In 2009, President Obama came up with his own definition of an Obama Doctrine: “we're only one nation... the problems that we confront, whether it's drug cartels, climate change, terrorism, you name it, can't be solved just by one country.” But Obama has also, at certain points, claimed to champion unilateralism in the service of human rights and internationalism in the service of diplomacy.

The Obama Doctrine has been difficult to pin down because there does not seem to be a common thread uniting his disparate policies – muscular interventionism in Libya, pushy paternalism with regard to Israel, eager abdication with regard to Syria and Ukraine.

But with Obama’s latest decision to launch airstrikes against the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL or ISIS), the Obama Doctrine has now come into focus: pretend to give a damn about suffering of innocents when it hits the headlines, ignore it the rest of the time.

Because Obama doesn’t truly care. At all. He is a master emotional manipulator, capable of achieving effective posturing when it comes to the suffering of innocents. That’s why the media constantly swoon at his “tone” and his “attitude” during his press conferences. They repeatedly praise his “anger” or his “determination.” But they rarely ask just what he’s doing to fight evil.

Any deployment of power will be short-term and ineffective. Obama will do all he can for innocents up until the moment when he doesn’t have to do so. Then he’ll leave them to die.

That was certainly the case in Egypt, where Obama expressed extraordinary optimism about the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, then promptly allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to take over. He has since spent efforts attempting to undercut the Egyptian military, which launched a popularly-supported coup against Mohamed Morsi.

It has been the case in Iran, where Obama belatedly denounced the treatment of democracy protesters, then did nothing as they were shot in the streets.

It has been the case in Ukraine, where Vladimir Putin has annexed Crimea and invaded eastern Ukraine. Obama has expressed outrage; Putin has scoffed, and his rebel forces have shot down a passenger airliner, to approximately zero effective action from the West.

It has been the case in Nigeria, where after expressing upset over Boko Haram’s kidnapping of innocent girls and ensuring that the State Department endorse the “power of hashtag,” the Obama administration has done precisely nothing.

It has been the case in Syria, where Obama assured the world that should dictator Bashar Assad cross a red line with use of weapons of mass destruction, there would be consequences. There were none. Assad, who Obama said should go, just signed onto another seven-year term. In sum total, the number of dead in Syria now approaches 200,000.

Now, Obama has done the same in Iraq. He will drop a few bombs. He will bluster. Then the world’s attention will turn to some other crisis, and Obama will blithely move on, leaving erstwhile allies to die.

This is no groundbreaking revelation. President Obama has always cared far more about appearances than realities. He bobs like a cork on the waves of crisis, skipping to and fro, always carefully attuning his public emotions to achieve the most sympathetic effect. If brief shows of force are necessary, Obama is unafraid to engage in them. But he is unwilling to make any commitment to taking the lasting action that actually effects change. To do that, he would have to lead rather than follow.

He would have to care.

Barack Obama is an emotional pro and a foreign policy dilettante. And that is an extraordinarily dangerous combination. Popularity is the Obama Doctrine. Ironically, the end result is massive unpopularity – it turns out that world events require prolonged and sustained action rather than posturing. More importantly, the end result is massive casualties.

The Obama Doctrine:

President Obama's remarks on airstrikes and humanitarian efforts in Iraq
Transcript

Obamas Go on 12-Day Martha's Vineyard Vacation Amid Global Crises
Amid an international ebola health emergency, U.S. airstrikes in Iraq, and the illegal immigration crisis surging on the southern border, President Barack Obama leaves on Saturday for a lavish Martha's Vineyard twelve day vacation at the 8,100-square foot mansion of Democratic Party donor Joanne Hubschman.

The timing of Obama's swank vacation has even the president's supporters worried.

"Even some of Obama's most ardent supporters are questioning the wisdom of this summer's sojourn as war roils Gaza and a wave of families and children are crossing the southwestern US border illegally," reports the Boston Globe.

Obama vacations as the world burns

President Obama must really be teed off.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid.

Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf.

Clinton, in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg published by the Atlantic over the weekend, offered a withering comment on the Obama doctrine, described in shorthand by White House officials as “don’t do stupid s---.” Said Clinton: “Great nations need organizing principles, and ‘Don’t do stupid stuff’ is not an organizing principle.”
