Thankfully what the dispicable actions by the officials at the VA CLEARLY demonstrate is what will happen to the entire health care system in the United States of America IF we ever end up with "single payer government run health care!!!!!"
That is precisely what the VA health care system is!!!!!

ANYBODY that can't make the correlation has their head firmly planted up their ass!!!!!

Ditto. There should be so much outrage regarding obamacare, we should be on the cusp of anarchy. But no, no big deal, business as usual, the sheeple are numb. The same complacency as the national debt, and near the consequences.

Well gang, I can't think of any veteran who would claim hero status other than ole horseface Kerry.. He went to Vietnam you know..

I do know of several that I consider hero's though. And although they are legitimate hero's they themselves would tell you they were just doing their job..

The hero moniker gets used by a lot of people who really have no clue what it is. Especially by politicians or those wishing to make points with or for some reason. And, in my opinion it is overused..

Not taking anything away from any draftee CV, but I know of a lot of them who saw no more danger during their service than the fear of hurting themselves with a potato peeler. The same with the volunteer recruits.
On the other hand not everyone who did not serve are cowards, (except one I can think of).

What about those who signed up in the aftermath of an attack? WWII, 911, or those who knew they would not be drafted but joined anyway. Would or should they be considered hero's??

I prefer to think of the all volunteer force as patriots. Sure some may have joined for the pay and benefits but I speak more to those who spent 20-30 or more years in service. Knowing that it is a real possibility they would likely be in harms way at some point, again not taking anything away from those who chose to do one or two tours and then go home to continue their lives..

As to the police and firemen. I think a lot of the reasons that apply to the military can be applied to them as well only in a smaller sense, meaning they are there for the community moreso than the country. Are all hero's? Heck no. Are some heroic, yes, as an example look at 911.

Teachers on the other hand I believe are there mostly for the paycheck. My opinion.. There are some great teachers out there I'm sure (there has to be at least one nowdays). We have all had one maybe that we believed was special at least to us. Those I truly believe really enjoyed what they were doing and they deserve recognition. But unfortunately the bad teachers far out number them.

Again, this is my opinion. And no one was hurt or injured by my giving it.. Well, maybe one got his feelings hurt..

Dave

I try and take as well as I give. I was likely a bit harsh. I am NOTHING close to any kind of hero, I was be facetious. Without regard for job title, any individual should be judged by his own mettle. Just like respect, it is earned. There are plenty of people of all walks that are hero's in one way or another. But certainly those that put themselves in harms way, however that may be, earn and deserve our (my) gratitude.
I though you had been digging a bit deep as my first name is Kerry. Then horseface, I though how did he get my picture? Also the "potato peeler" was accurate. AIT duties were assigned on a non-rotational basis and I pulled KP 8 weeks in a row and I can assure you that included potatoes crying (although we had an abrader). No disrespect intended, nor any false praise and certainly no political correctness.

LOL..

My not knowing your name is Kerry made this hilarious to me.

I was not judging you by any means.. But, I'd bet you peeled a mean potato.. Rolling

Actually thinking back to Vietnam a draftee had plenty of courage. Doing something knowing you would be in harms way and you didn't volunteer for it takes a lot of courage.
I can live with those who avoided the draft through leagal means, it's the ones who ran that I hold contempt for.

I too peeled my share of Idaho's.. Wink

I'm one of the takers of VA medical benefits. I was due for my annual check up in May but had been putting it off likely due to the bad press the VA has been getting. Giving credit where credit is due, I got a call today from the VA saying I was past due for my annual and did I want to make an appointment? I go to a satellite clinic, which is to say it's away from the main hospital and more like a real doctors office. While I'm sure there is tremendous pressure coming down the chain of command throughout the VA I just wanted to give kudos where they are due and they have always treated me good.

the man that lives next to me was taken to the va. last week. he served in the navy and worked in the aluminum industry. he already had 1/2 a lung taken out and has been in declining health. went and visited with him and found out that he was never going to come out of va. he is in hospice care and he has nothing but praise for the docs and nurses that are treating him. i know there are a lot of horror stories about the va. but i can say after talking to him he is being treated right. i have stayed away from va because i have very good medical @ dupont but i did serve in the coast guard.

Just like you posted years back how you FAILED your physical from the Selective Service when you went down to register because you couldn't see???????? FAILED EYE EXAM?????????????????

Now you are up in a tower for years calling out results from your eyesight.

Maybe if your wives had better eyesight, you wouldn't be married 6 times

I know about you Clowns by what you post.

I will also stand by what I posted about OLD MAN.

He is a coward and took the easy way out by joining the reserves at the beginning of the Vietnam conflict. That was the norm back then.
He posted he was a TARGET CHANGER, his most dangerous mission and when BD asked him if he ever left the Country, he wouldn't answer.
Now he comes on here bashing Veterans Care. Fawking Coward.

Boob,
Did you volunteer for the reserves, national guard or active Uta? How many have traveled and fought? The other thing you probably don't realize since you aren't a veteran is that the reserves and even the national guard ( sometimes) actually perform normal functions that our armed service members do if they aren't deployed. There is a massive amount of logistics and support operations that have to happen to support deployed forces.

It is amazing how you throw the word 'coward ' out there and not understand what courage is. A ver hypocritical statement.

I stated I'd post my military record right after the lying self-confessed war criminal gigolo Secretary of State lived up to his promise and posted his!!!!!
A hint, and it does not include the National Guard or Reserves, except I spent two weeks with them, what a bunch of weekend warriors they were, at Camp McCoy Wisconsin once!

I didn't dodge service asswipe.
I didn't have a choice as you did.
I passed my physical for a little tidbit info.

You had a choice covey, and you took the better way out.
You posted your little story years ago.
Now you wanna lie to look good.

Now you ask for a link.
That was pretty safe to ask.
Even a retard as dumb as muck can figure that out.
