One thing I will say though is that the hate crime laws are just plain goofy. Why in the world is is worse to assalt or kill a member of a protected group? Would it not make more sense to say that all people of all races and classes are afforded the same protection under the law? All the hate crime deal does is complicate the law, and drive a wedge between races. That is bad for everyone. The ultimate in this country is to get to a point where everyone has the same rights and protections. Hate crime laws arecounter productive to that end.

That's another thing I hate about this time we live in..
