Who's to say? Just a few short months ago you could tell it was AI, but now, only if it seems to ridiculous to be true. Of course AI is another topic all it's own. Like many high-tech things there's some upside, some (a lot) of potential downside. This will be a serious nose-ring in half the population.

We have a solar system so I don't get a monthly electric bill, instead I get a round up at the end of the year, this year it was $1005.01. I tried to pay the bill, first on-line then by phone, easy peasy right, not on your friggin' life.

I called San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) and was greeted, not by a person but a (AI) robot. First question it had FOR ME was are YOU a robot???? Think about it, a robot asking me if I'm a robot, the irony is overwhelming. Setting that aside all I want to do is to pay them $1005.01 before they turn off the power. Once they sent me the round up amount (E-Mail) they told me I had 2 days to pay it or the power would be turned off.

I spend more than a hour and a half trying to pay the bill dealing with "The AI robot". No luck. Gave up, called a friend who's daughter works for SDG&E. Got her personal phone, called her and paid her the $1005.01 which she transferred toward my account.

Ridiculous, you bet. This AI crap is just that total crap!
