Well, with my slow junk 5.40-5.50 setup I can run as much as 42 degrees on alky and pull 6 out of it down track. It 60 fts pretty good if it hooks. Fat + a bunch of timing = good 60 fts for me. I figgerd that out years ago. I do it with my delay box timers and a step retard..... Cutting edge stuff.

Many members suggested going up in launch rpm instead of adding timing. It seemed like you kind of dismissed the suggestions or maybe you did try them. Here's a little bit of testing I did at this past weekend's TnT on Fri. Both runs were made in the right lane & I was unable to make a 3rd attempt because it was a cluster F...! Anyway the 1st pass was made at our normal launch rpm. The 2nd run we added 400 rpm to the launch limiter. Results: 1 lb. more boost at the launch & a quicker 60' by .022. This of course improved all times & mph down track. I wanted to get the 3rd run in with another 400-rpm added to the launch rpm but that didn't due to the track cluster. That would have added another 2 lbs. of boost. 2BKING ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. Pump Gas 436

On my NA car 4500 RPM launch is 1.21-1.22 60 ft. IF it hooks. 4000 Puts me at High 1.23-1.24 range and is more consistent. So it slows me up roughly .02 to .025 also.

rpms on the line definitely help the bottom end, depending on the size of the blower J.R. Everybody's combo will want different set up's and you have to give it what it wants. These cars generally go lean coming off the 2-step so I feel adding timing will be a huge negative. I run the typical 540" BBC from SDPC with a Vortech V3-123 and want to leave the line at 9-10lbs of boost and that is around 5200rpm of launch rpm. I run a 1.48 low gear with a 3.70 rear end gear. I run 24 degrees of timing and generally pull 2-3 degree's at the hit and ramp it in just before the shift at 7800 rpm. I run 25lbs of boost at 8000 rpm and go through the finish line at 7900 with a converter that stalls around 7400. This set up runs 6.05-6.15@232mph. I'm probably 150lbs lighter then all the other TD's with similar combo's so my set up is way different than the norm.
