How strong are Dart CI blocks?

Like the title says.
Dart cast iron block with billet caps.
Blown alcohol Chevy 540 35 PSI.
Best ET in the 1/8 is 4.11 178.
I broke a World products block with billet caps due to a broken intake stud causing boost to go from 35 to 41 psi. This resulted in a torched head and pistons.

So the question is, I'm pushing the the limits of this block?

if the tune up is good I would think you would be fine.. Im switching one engine from aluminum to a nbew dart iron block, but I wont run it till next year.... hopefully

if you are talking about big m 2,it will be fine.it will need series work to get oil back to the pan.it different from original block,but mine works fine

Yes big M2. I run #8 returns from the back of the head to the oil pan.

I was reluctant to do so but im told I will pick up with Iron over the aluminum, like many others have done... per my engine man... hes been on me for years to do it...
