This is getting freaking OBSCENE. 3 years ago, my homeowners insurance was $1480. 2 years ago it basically doubled to $2900. 1 year ago it jumped to $4,000. I got a letter from them yesterday, saying in order for them to renew my policy, I would need to agree to double the deductible for Windstorm/Hail damage from 1% to 2%, (this would double my out-of-pocket cost by several thousand $$$ if a roof replacement is needed, etc). AND the letter said they have not yet calculated the increase in the premium, (on top of that deductible change)!! The policy expires the end of March. I have never filed a claim against them. The cost has nearly tripled in 3 years, and may end up with another +$1K or more on top of that. We hear the BULLSHYT blame on "climate change" for everything, which has become a new excuse to gouge everyone. WTF is going on with insurance rates? I am sure the big companies are raking in Billions. Auto insurance - Same thing. I carry my son on my policy. Our premium has increased 74% in the past 2 years! Is anyone (Everyone?) seeing this same kind of ridiculous increases in home &/or Auto Insurance rates?? Dan "Jim" Moore Much too young to feel this damn old!! | ||
