MLB gave up its non-profit status in 2007, NFL in 2014. NBA has never been non-profit. And, while MLB and the NFL as overarching entities were registered as such, the individual teams have ALWAYS been private, for-profit businesses (except the Green Bay Packers which are publicly owned). |
