One of the benefits of working from home, we are still working. All of our business is internet based or direct to dealers so it's business as usual. Same with most our suppliers, small enough businesses they are still open.

As long as Fedex, UPS, and USPS continue to roll we are good to go.

Stay safe my friends and be respective of others in travel if you must.

NOPE.
Neither is my wife.
Governor shut down the state.
No NON essential businesses to open PERIOD.

Over 70,000 NEW UNemployed in Connecticut just last week, and growing this week.
That's why there is a run on food, CASH, etc.

Drove by the bank this morning going to the grocery store (the store had some stuff but many shelves empty), at 7:30AM the line for the bank was out the parking lot and down the street about 60 cars (they don't open until 8:30). All the banks we drove by were similar to this.

Anyone with a 401k has lost over 1/3 of their retirement and still going down.
Not good.
This is just the beginning (starting the second week of this BS) what's it going to be like in 6 - 8 weeks?
Guns and ammo are getting scarce also.

This is going to make 2008 look like a weekend bar-b-que.
Super Angry

Some of our products are ingredients for food, so our plant is open. Thank goodness.
My wife is working from home when she can, and going into the office when she needs to. Most of her office staff is home. Her maintenance staff is mostly taking call ins, but are trying to keep up with rehabs too as carefully as they can.

401k for sure has taken a hit.
My heart goes out to those who can't work. Very difficult times.

Sorry to say things are grim here.3 calls the entire month.Companies I'm under contract with zero to none. Have to check from time to time there is a dial tone on the phone. I average 35-40 calls a month. If i have to sell the car and trailer , so be it. She is not working either, closed. Lost the FedEx account. They are pulling back on all outside vendors. Been with them for 12 years. The ironic thing is, since you are a listed vendor, you have to have them on as an additional insured added to the policy which increases the premium. Weather you get work or not from them. I call it BS.

You kick me to the curb, i just cancel the insurance. Find so other *** that will lay out on the highway at 2 AM. So be it.

Drove around town yesterday just to get out of the house and fill up with diesel. Most shopping center parking lots are empty except for grocery stores and drive thru food joints. Lot's of people are going to get hurt by this. I'm lucky. I'm retired so I don't have to work. I own everything so I'm not hurting. My kids are doing fine so far. My son has his own business and has all his sales and office staff working from home. He's the only one at the warehouse so he's doing all the shipping. The auto aftermarket is still going strong. My daughter is a teacher so she's working from home.
We are lucky. Hope this is over fast.

Yes but not much to do for me.

Our business is considered necessary and important.....

Men trying to do field service and repair work as best they can.

I do what I can and usually do to keep the place orderly and ready for whatever comes along....

Probably will cut my own hours back some voluntarily....

No, Smithsonian Institution Management has told everyone able to, to telework until further notice, as of this past Friday. Most meetings moved to virtual platforms.

I still have engineers working diligently to maintain the collections environment and a few fearless building services folks ensuring the buildings are clean for the security and engineering folks. We cannot just close the doors and walk away from the artifacts!

One of our upper managers said it best when he said "Something like this has never happened before and it will be something we remember forever"!

I am working. We do some work for defense stuff, some work for the food industty, and work for transportation. Boss said he had 4 emails telling him to not shut down.
We are working with about a 1/2 crew. There is normally 18 of us . Some of us will be there everyday, others are rotating days. Some may not work at all. They came up with a plan for paying us that I believe we were all happy with.

Self employed, data analytics and security. We contract to a division of government and have been busier than ever with all the security threats. I also contract to the department of education and with the shift to online learning it has been almost a 24/7 project.

Working all week. In the food processing/package it industry. In fact production demand is so high that a scheduled plant shutdown to install new upgrades was put off from last weekend to tbd status.

I did see some "dumb a$$" questioning gas stations and repair garages on FB as being a necessity. Are you kidding me?

Does he think Santa Claus takes the doctors and grocery store workers to their jobs?

My wife and I are both working full time from home, for at least another week after this one. We know we are very fortunate. Our positions allow us to do that as long as we need to.

She's missing out on some decent side money from judging major dance competitions all over the country.

In Oklahoma it is just recommended to work from home and many are. We are still at work. My company makes testing, measuring and sampling equipment for the oil industry so we will probably be considered essential. Not sure about that but since we haven't been ordered to shelter yet we are working. Taking lots of precautions though.

My wife is in healthcare so she has to go in. The daughter still at home starts working from home tomorrow.

Unfortunately this is going to get worse and worse as people stay home and can't work.
Here in our town a few restaurants TRIED to stay open and do "Take Out" only but they couldn't break even so they closed.

Other restaurants have gone out of business because they never had a take out business (only dine in).

I talked to our local Auto parts store (Napa), the owner said that even though they "can" be open they will probably close the doors this Saturday due to not enough volume of parts orders and it's costing too much to stay open for very little $$ coming in.

Unless things turn around in the next week or so things are going to get REAL UGLY FAST.

Here in CT, there is little to NO fresh food (beef, chicken, salad makings, etc).

Moral of the story, the doctors have to knock this sh*it off so we can get back to business or there will NO businesses to get back to.

Below is from our State representative from our governor.

The guidelines of businesses that will remain open are:
Hospitals
Pharmacies
Grocery Stores
Gas Stations
Restaurants (take out only)
Banks and Financial Services
Food Banks

So MANY folks are not working.
