The BozmanNorth East truck
Guys,
In the south we all have diesels to pull our trailers with. Seems up here in the NE most guys have gas trucks, what is the thought or am I just missing something.

green1I don’t need not want to pay the extra for one and I don’t know about down south fuel prices but gets a bit higher than gas here in the winter.

BuckyDon't overlook that a body will fall off of a northern truck well before the engine has become an issue. So longevity of diesels isn't a real advantage up here.
There are decent gas engines that can get the job done for what I am pulling. I would rather spend the extra money on race car parts.

Larry WoodfinBoz, I do not know the answer to your question, however, I do know this. As you already understand I have towed a trailer all over D 4 for many years, all with various gas rigs. In 2006 I bought a Duramax LBZ, WOW, I am still gathering up rocks to throw at a gas engine for heavy towing

Just last week I was towing along I - 20, cruise set at 75, relaxed, passing passenger cars up hills, no shifting, smiling, what a fine package

The Bozmanhard to find the LBZ motors, everyone keeps those. 06-07 was the best year

1355PROI had two Dodge diesels an 07 and 04.5 and loved them for towing. I didn't love the price of fuel and the front end parts. I'm only towing an 18ft enclosed with a 2130#car so I got a 17 5.7 Hemi 1500 with a 3.92 gear. It pulls great but doesn't get the mpg the diesel got...the price of fuel more than makes up for it though.

Larry WoodfinBoz, I even drug your Dad "several" miles for a few seasons. Man O Man, we did without question laugh, have a large time, and turned on a respectable number of win lights

Your Dad and I are a good match with telling tall tales, always outtelling the last one.

The BozmanYes sir, would love to know where "Fools Gold" is now with that high winding small block

Larry WoodfinI know where it is. The same engine is still in it with less cam. It has been driven about 500 miles in the last 35 years. Also repainted and spiffed up for street duty but rarely driven.
