Cerakote
Anyone use Cerakote products?
I just stepped my headers and I would like to spray a set.

So far I have coated my blower and intake , also pistons for both engines top coat and skirts, plus several sets for other people.

I like it, it works really well, easy to put on. Only thing I don't like is sand blasting everything. Pistons get masked off three times depending if you coat both top and skirts.
You have to bake most products so you will need an oven.
I also use a cheap Harbor Freight touch up gun.

It's tough as nails if applied correctly. I've had some headers done and they were not tough and it's really hard to strip off.

My suggestion is making sure your applicator knows what they're doing.

We have a guy who does guns for manufacturers all over the world doing some test products for us now. He also does carburetor parts for a leading manufacturer. He's in our town and we just stumbled across him by the carb peoples recommendation.

Excited to see the options this offers us.

After lots of research I’m coating the pan and lower block too. Possibly the heads also. Oil control.

I'd pay close attention to the mfr requirements for texture finish needed prior to coating, also. My understanding is that it is not a sandblast and coat process, as the media is critical, also.

Especially on anything that is going to be coated on the inside of an engine.

My headers were improperly done, and I have to get them redone over the winter.
