ATI vs reid case
Going to have to get a legal transmission case. FI is out of stock. Jegs has cpl two piece as does summit. Trying to see if both have a BBM bell I can change out, Beats hell out of mid plate as adapter. Loosing 14lbs when swapping out this JW does not hurt anything,

Any real difference in ATI which summit has and Reid which jegs has?

I have had both and without question the overall quality of the Reid case is much better IMO. Both will get the job done

Reid is a far superior casting quality. Its why its at least 100:1 ratio Reid vs everyone else.

The Reid case is a permanent mold process and the others are Quickset sand castings so the Reid will look much better than the others. I haven't had either in my hands but have seen most. Just wanted to add why the Reid looks so much better outwardly than most. That doesn't mean they all won't do the job. The machining still has to be on point.

Before I hurt my engine the Reid and the ATI were the 2 I was debating to use.

Been running ATI case for 15 years. I'm not a transmission guy so all I can report is it's working so far.

So I make a joke about all replies being for same one and 2 out 3 next reply different. Thats just funny.

My next question would be are the bell interchangeable? Doubting it.

Asking because more than likely I will be only one at track running BBM bell. If trans bad and could borrow one odds are not in favor of but possible. I would like to have best chance of swapping bell and rolling. Sounds like Reid is highest odds of being what I find as someone's spare .Plus might find a out dated reid I could build as spare transmission. Heck I broke a trans in cpl burnouts and one decent leave. I know I can break one on full weekend race.LOL

you bbc guys just have it too easy and too cheap. I have to spend extra 300 for different bell and you guys get it as part of package. Thinking even with two complete engines and spare parts these Hemi's are still going to cost me more. LMAO But he11 they do look cool and have strong as hell bottom end.

Reid is top of the line, always guaranteed to be MADE IN USA.

Both ATI and TSI make a nice aftermarket case MADE IN USA.

They're all a huge step up from a stock case.

Cobalt has a Reid case. I got a good deal on a Trans Specialties case for my roadster and I was happy with the quality of that one also.

You heard wrong. Got nothing but good to say about Brandon and his transmissions and converters. Won the division in 2018 championship, finished 2nd last year and 4th in the world with his stuff behind my engines. Also some guy named Bogacki runs their stuff too and I heard he's won a round or two.

I bought a 1.80 straight from Bill Taylor himself when they first got under 2k.

He told me If I ever broke it he'd send me another no charge. I believed him on his word.I never broke it. Never broke anything BTE.

Bill Taylor was one of the most impressive men I've ever spoken with. He reminded me a lot of John McKay the original head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

You could make a hand shake agreement for a million dollars with either. American

I have both a Reid and ATI, both behind BBM's. This is my take FWIW. Both will do the job, the Reid is a much nicer looking piece for sure. Sonce they require recerts every 5 years choose which ever one is easier for you to get recerted. Just something to bear in mind. Reid is in Cali and ATI is in Baltimore. Some builders can also do the recerts, but if you are doing your own just something to think about.

Also you dont HAVE to use a BBM bellhousing. You can buy an adapter plate from ATI, TCI etc that will allow you to bolt a Chevy bell trans to a Mopar block. There is also the midplate mounted starter option. I have used all of the above as well as a Mopar bell.
