Looking at replacing the stock steering shaft on a 1985 GM car. Will a 1" double D universal slide up onto the factory lower part of the column?

Guess I'll answer my own question in case someone else needs the info. Contacted Borgeson and they said yes their 1" Double D style joint will fit on a factory and many aftermarket columns.
