I've been using MSD wire and have to bend the plug end to 135 degrees. I don't like the way the boots go back on the plugs because It takes so long before I feel confident that the metal connector is actually on the plug. It's like the terminal inside the boot spreads or I miss the terminal or I'm not on far enough to engage the terminal. Am I supposed to straighten the boot and then rebend it each time they come off? Is there a good wire that snaps on so I know I have it right? Taylor maybe??

I like my Moroso Ultras...always a good positive snap when they're on, and I got the ones that are prebent at 135/40 for a sbf.

I wouldn't put Taylor on my lawnmower....Firecore I think has a 135* boot, Moroso does, Scott Performance wire does, and Magnacore also has a different angled boot....Take your pick

Currently I am using an Accel set I had sitting in the trailer for several years. (Brand new, but I guess you could call them old stock). Spiral Core, Super Stock. No issues with EMI interference, ignition works perfectly.
They were cut-to-fit, with straight boots, like most. But after I bent the terminals to a 45*, and slid the boots down over them, they do snap onto the plugs better.
If anyone does find a brand that still comes with the "135*" boots, please post up brand & P/N.
(Just a curiosity, but I always wondered why they call them 135 degree, instead of 45*? Same difference, but it really is just a 45* angle, 135 would be almost folded back flat on itself like a 180*).

I use Taylor 79231. Over the valve cover, 135* plug boots and female/socket style distributor ends.

79232 is the same set but with HEI-style distributor ends.

I've always liked the way the Taylor wires have a good positive snap onto the plug.

A straight line is just a 180* angle. A 45* angle would have the boot folding back on itself.

Taylor 409 wires are awesome. Never a problem and I've run then got 10+years. Only change them for piece of mind.

Moroso Ultra, can't beat the quality and the price is right. I've had that problem with some plug wires that feel like you can find the terminal. My Ultras are 90* but they snal positive when you install them. Mine were pre made with shrink on the ends and #'s already on them.

Alright, Tony. You made me take a mental journey way back. Yesterday was the 41st anniversary of when I separated from the US Navy. Having manned the helm several times during underway watch, I pictured the ships compass, and yeah, heading "0-0-0" is due North, 0-9-0 (90 degrees) is due East, "zero-four-five" degrees is NE. So logically, if I were heading from the North, that 0-4-5 would be almost doubled back. Heading due South, it would be compass heading 1-8-0. And SE would be your 1-3-5.

I really like my Scot wires better than any I have tried, and I tried a lot of them. The ohms rating are very low. They can be ordered on-line, and come with real nice heat sleeves and for what it's worth you can get just about any color you want. All for good price.

I've used MSD and Taylor for years, never had a problem but we switched to a set of Firecore wires last year and I swear the car got a bit more consistent ...........

I use the Smileys Racing plug wires. They are Moroso Ultra and even come in the Moroso box but are much cheaper.

I’ve been very pleased with my Magnecor wires. You might check their website.

call rick 866-973-WIRE(9473) he will build you what you want. Firecore have some of the nicest boots that snap into place.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm leaning towards either the Firecore or Moroso Ultras.

Anyone have any experience with electrical noise emission with the various brands? I'm running msd's that I terminated right now. I will admit after all the years running msd, this is the first set that I don't get the right snap that I like to feel when installing. I'm sure it has something to do with how I terminated.
But with all the electronic stuff in my car now, I do fight some noise issues. The less of that produced, the better.
