I would contact any of the local CAT dealers around you. See if they will work on it for you and not for just routine maintenance. MH's do break down.
That would be my deciding factor.

I don’t recall from memory if that year would be the Tier III or IV version. If it is the IV, I would be cautious. I would also ask if there has been any history of injection problems, their system is kind of complicated and finding someone with the software (proprietary) to diagnose could pose a problem. Other than that the engines seem to be a workhorse.

From what I understand, Cat no longer builds motorhome engines so they don't bother to service them. It's hard enough finding someone to work on motorhomes and now that they don't have the manufacturer pressuring an authorized dealer it would get even harder... Also, it seems that fuel mileage on the Cats tends to be worse than a comparable Cummins equipped coach. They are all thirsty but the Cats seem to be worse!

Brief summary on why. The real question is how long will they stay producing parts for these..
Can't remember the last time i had a call with a Cat. Mostly are Cummins and Detroit.

The C9, C11 and C13 are all good motors as long as they are the predef. Pre def is better on all motors. Cat's get a lot less Gas mileage than the Cummins.
