For those of you who race a Mustang [Fox body and SN95 up to 2004] are you able to race consistently and successfully with an upgraded OE style rear suspension? Or have you changed to a ladder bar or other system? The application will be relatively mild SBC, around 550 horse, ET range 6.40, gutted out to weight around 2800 - 2900 with driver. Mini tubs, around a 29 x 10.5 tire. Larry Woodfin

Ladder bar is a downgrade from the factory triangulated 4 bar setup. They plain work well from the factory easily up to 800+ hp. Buy a good quality housing that has adjustable upper and lower mounts (i.e. Tin Soldier Race Cars, Merillat Racing, or TRZ Motorsports) and you will be good to go. Higher HP stuff or very low ride height cars need aftermarket upper and lower torque boxes swapped in to correct the bar angles. Dont forget good shocks/struts like Santhuff or Afco.

Larry, that fox body we built for my wife had an explorer 8.8 (with the locker still and 28spline axles), factory springs (still had the airbag in the passenger side) and direct bolt in replacement 10 way strange shocks. 28 x 10.5's. We were at 2800lbs, but only going 6.90s. No issues at any of the D4 tracks we took it to the last several years.
