electric vacuum
No not asking for the wife, hell not sure she know if seen one.LOL

Looking to remove some clutter off front of engine. Vacuum pump relocated with not drive belt would be huge.

Since not going to new ring package until get rods for other crank I can either keep what there for now or go pan vac system.Yea know all other benifits of vacuum pump.

Wondering if any run eilectirc vacuum pump? OIf so what brand thoughts? Have seen few on speedway and other site and like input form anyone running one.

A mechanical vacuum pump increases in RPM and vacuum same as motor and creates more vacuum as needed. Electric vacuum pump will not do much even at idle and will get WORSE as RPM goes up because it stays same rpm.

You said you are not going to new ring package at this time. Sounds to me like you are not pulling much vacuum as is? That is probably not your ring package. That may be an intake leak, air leak around distributor, valve covers, oil pan, timing cover, dip stick tube or something like that. Smoke test motor and tell us what you learned.

Pan evac system is not going to do anything if you do not fix those leaks. With Zoomies maybe even less. Electric pump would be a waste of time and money if you still have those leaks. Smoke test motor.

A mechanical vacuum pump is the best, lowest cost, most efficient way to get vacuum. The only reason some run pan evac or electric pump is like in Super Stock or some other class where mechanical pump is not allowed.

None of us like the look of a vacuum pump or the extra belt up front but we run them because it works best by far.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

First wrong on amount of vacuum but correct deos not change. There are quite a few that pull 12 to 15". Not asking if should or should not run one. Not sure why everyone here or most feel need to tell others what thehy should do when all asked was if anyone running that piece.

Maybe it just me. But telling someone about reason they should or shlould not use is disrespectful. You are assuming they have not already figured ups and downs or knowing anything about it, When actually that is why they are now asking if anyone uses it and if so what brand.
Maybe wrong approach but I try to credit pepole with having knowledge of what they ask about other than exactly what they asked about it, I Figure they have already done research or though it out. Then I do not feel need to show know more than them but rather know answer to quesrion or have opinion on it.

Now if ask hey thinkiong about using this what do you think about idea. Then by all means tell me why should or should not. I will be posting such a thread as soon as can get pics to down load to site. I am sure will be lots of why should nots on it. Maybe one I have not thought of and checked out yet.
