Do You Run Your Race Vehicle All Out?
No, never.
If your bracket racing there is no reason to (other than ego).
If my engine were to let go, I would be down for quite some time due to the financial aspect of it, so there is no reason to temp fate.

I didn’t think of this question in the manner of getting every bit of power etc out of it. I am kind of conservative not running as much timing, shifting lower than I could and fueling safe.

^^^Winner...Winner^^^^

I can think of some other sarcastic reasons other than ego! Wink

Fastracer, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. While your reason wasn't the primary purpose of the thread it did play a part of why it was started.

2BKING: Sometimes we lose sight of bracket racing or maybe we never had it to start. HMMMM

"Sometimes"? LOL! Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

I feel like its a game of illusions. To some extent.

If I am struggling on the tree I will hold because I feel it keeps you in the game (if the person your racing is paying attention). Pointless if they never look over.

If I am killing the tree, and car is on point I will likely dial honest - why add another set of variables that can open your package.

If the track is **** and car is moving, I am holding and sometimes a bunch.

If I get someone I know plays games and is watching I will likely be holding.

If I get a 4.2X dragster to my 5.6-.7 I am typically honest because there is no way to judge for either of us. Let too many of them back around thinking I could. And I rarely hear them lift - they are usually the guys that want to show the best ET/MPH so why again add a variable if the car is repeating.

I agree with the 1st sentence & I like to call it strategies also. I'm sure other terms could be used also.

I'm not a 4.2X dragster but I feel like one at our local bracket races running in Pro with a door car. It's rough judging the finish line with my MPH advantage. That's why hold numbers so I can get rid of my MPH to a more manageable position for driving the finish line. I'm usually in the low 130 MPH range in eliminations & slower in time runs. As mentioned earlier I can at least run 152 MPH ripping the throttle.

I have no desire or ego to show a fast ET/MPH.

Anyway, I still have to find a comfortable spot to be able to kill more MPH. I'm thinking somewhere in the high 120 MPH range. These MPH ranges will be based on my opponents MPH.

2BKING likes the back half MPH of the ProCharger. Smile

I don’t have enough injector nor the time for pinning the wastegates shut. I imagine the car would run low 4.4’s or better. But I don’t have the time or the pockets to maintain it. .60’s or .70’s is great for me.
