Basic box stock carb, was working well. Now will not hold an idle. Sounds like it’s running out of fuel. I can Keep it running with a slight blimp of the throttle but you have to keep doing it or it dies. Things Ive done: Removed bowls and cleaned all passages Changed needles and seats Changed fuel Timing is locked at 34. It was working good then I added new fuel and it started acting up. That’s why I changed the fuel out but it’s the same. I did Think maybe it’s a summer blend issue as it was fine in the winter. It runs fine above 1800 rpm. Just looking for some ideas to get this car to idle again. Kinda lost on this one. Thanks in advance.

Did you do anything to it before it stared having problems? ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Yes it does still have a power valve. But it didn’t have any backfires or something that would make that fail but it’s an easy swap so I will check that. Nothing unusual really. It did get a little hot due to not having water pump on but it was only about a mile or so then we noticed it and when switched on, it cooled off and ran normal. It’s a street/strip car that is being setup for a little more street. Had an E85 carb on it prior. Appreciate the help. I’ll change the PV today and see if there is any change.

Watch the PV gasket. Some of them don't fill real well and can leak passed them. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. Check baseplate to main body screw tightness and any other possible vacuum leak prone areas. Matt Ward

I initially thought the same but I have not found it yet. I’ll check those tonight as well. Thanks all.

its lean on idle circuit, either open corner screws or close butterfly down and readjust.also good chance the bottom plate on carb could be loose. honesty is the best policy, insanity is a better deffense 1.036, 6.16@ 224

Took it apart, cleaned again and tightened the screws on the bottom…… now it idles! It was less than an 1/8 on 3 or 4 screws but it did turn a little. Thank you all for the help. I knew this experienced group would know where to look. .
