I think you are questioning if that is true or you wouldn't have asked but it sounds like a combination that could be run for a long time without problems.

If you're happy with it though who cares what anyone else thinks. I would race the heck out of it and enjoy life.

Curtis

Turn the boost up. I'd be targeting 4.60's. Seen very similar setup on a small block around gulfport, ms. His SB was somewhere around 4.60/4.50 range.

If you rebuild, consider picking up the base compression to around 11.5/12.5:1 and add more cam. Should add quite a bit of steam!

cool combo cause it's not often used.

The blower came with a pulley that made 8psi after calling and looking around I found a pulley that raised the boost to 12psi not much out there for the old b+m blowers,I tried to stay conservative on compression didn't want to have gasket issues, I use a black 1 pump cut back to 0anhalf 78 pill 37 nozzle jets

A guy we race with has a small block in his dragster with a blower. He runs 7.80s but at 179 or 180 mph. It is always interesting racing him, I go 40s at the same mph as him.

The race looks weird because he gets a head start then I run him down and we’re next to each other for about the last 300 feet. Might be something you can try to do to get an advantage because other people might not expect it.

I remember awhile ago I had one of those, I laid down a .4xx light on you. I don’t think I let go of the button until you launched and woke me up.

sounds like a great combination. I have a 496 but it is about 13.5 to 1. Putting one of those old blowers on top with an injector or even a big Dominator should work great. I have seen a lot of the low profile B&M blowers with single carbs running in the 4.70's at decent mph, IE 145-6

Always wondered how consistent the non cog drives were, as in belt slip issues or not. Do you see any issues with belt slip?

I have not seen any signs of slip always looking for signs like rubber dust or hot spots but the car has been pretty consistent I broke out more times than running off dial
