markemark^^^^ X2. Hydraulic crimpers and correct die size ensure the proper crimp and better choice over mechanical cable crimper for larger cables.

AlaskaracerI've always ran welding cable. Way more flexible and can carry more current than battery cable due to more strands of wire inside....
I like that the article mentions Polar Wire. They are right here in Anchorage and I get my wiring stuff from them. They are a bit pricey compared to other stuff, but the wire they make is exceptional. I highly recommend them.

A lot of farm supply stores will have it in bulk if you're on a short fuse.

TD3550One and done. Used these for years Will do most HD cables. Hammer only. You won't wear it out.

Bought one of these when I rewired my car. Thing works excellent. Worth every penny and cheap.

Yep. Bought my 18 foot section of 1/0 welding cable from Tractor Supply Co. Was planning to solder the cable ends on it, but they had wedge-clamp type mechanical ends that have a large nut around them, you tighten it up with a wrench, very solid secure connection, no issues or voltage drop.
