I’m working on my first newer car and I’m trying to class up a bit from my old dragster. It seems like no matter how much you hear the sfi padding, the adhesive eventually fails at the bends and it’s loose. Is there anything classier than zip ties which has been my long time go to?

Looking around lately at a lot of dragsters at all the high dollar races and I was wondering if roll bar padding was at thing anymore? Seems like a lot of the new cars come out without any or at the very least a minimal amount of padding!

Padding is only required IF the driver's helmet can contact the bars, with belts fully secured.

Get a roll of Velcro, not tape. Grey Right Stuff, it works better than black for this. Heat the padding, get it hot, I sit it in front of my heater discharge. It will be flimsy and hold in place while it cools to shape it. Then re-heat not as much, put right stuff on back and secure with Velcro. Give it a day or two then peal Velcro off. Thats how I do it with 3 Jr's.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Slick Vic,
