I would buy the Brodix 10 times before buying Promaxx. I would also look at Dart's 180cc head. This message has been edited. Last edited by: CURTIS REED, ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Best head for the $ is AFR's Eliminator. Best head if you have the $ is from All Pro

Brodix Track 1 233 is fastest / quickest in the world n/a 3200 lb street car, on a 10 x 28 bias slick. 5 second 1/8 mile sbc non raised runner 23 degree sbc. MADE IN USA to the front. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Rietow,

AFR or Brodix either are great heads. You do NOT need an All Pro for your application. BG

Very true, All Pro is 8500 rpm plus. We have 11k in these 1" cam. We'll spin this 8500 - 8600 rpm.

If I "had" to pick between only those two heads, I would pick the Brodix. The quality is good and their customer service is top notch. I have one motor with AFRs and one with Brodix heads. The cylinder head is one of the most important parts of a combination, if it's too big it won't fall out of a tree, if it's too small the motor won't live up to it's potential. Be careful only looking at flow numbers, there are other factors that make a cylinder head run well. Besides that, most, if not all manufacturers inflate their numbers or have a happy flow bench.

Good advice! BG | |||

Very true. I had a good experience dealing with Brodix on the phone. I'm doubtful they inflate their flow numbers or have a happy flow bench though, because the best part about dealing with them was they were rational, didn't blow smoke up my arce. I was actually doubtful after talking with them, on reaching goals. Which was a good thing because it forced me to plan ahead on other aspects, in order to reach those goals. Brodix won't blow smoke up your arse, I can attest to that.

I have spoken to AFR as I have eliminator 220s. They were also helpful and straightforward. I don't think you can go wrong. Call both, see which one works with you as a racer better and go with them. BG

Talk about what you know, not what you think you know! All Pro makes many sbc heads including replacement heads for 305s! Further, I have All Pro 227SP heads on the 400 in this all steel, 3200 lb. Camaro compete with triple chrome plated bumpers that would embarrass mr. "fastest / quickest in the world"
|
DRR Sportsman |
I am aware of all pro 305 head. These are specialty high end heads and NOT needed for a typical footbrake car bracket racing. BG

that was not the OP's question. Further, neither is a Brodix or AFR head needed. The Green '69 Camaro above is a typical footbrake bracket car and has been for over 30 years! It has also run 9.72 @ 138 with a 1.27 60 foot off the footbrake with a 4150 carb and 10" converter over 12 years ago!

How is this camaro gonna embarrass the Ripper? The Ripper went 9.69 @ 114 mph, lifting at the 1000 ft. On a 10 x 28 bias Don't get all emotional now, name calling. Just answer the question rationally.

the camaro runs with a restrictor that's how! Again, talk about what you know, not what you think you know!

Well the least you could do is photochop a time slip for us Like this one the E is different on your car #

this ain't about my former BBC Chevelle which too would embarass you. we've been through this before about your nothing special cut up shyt box with triple chrome plated bumpers and ridiculous claims. It ain't the "fastest / quickest" anything anywhere no mind "in the world" Add another ridiculous claim that "ALL Pro is 8500 rpm plus" Two blind squirrels that ain't got a clue talking out their azz.
|
DRR Top Comp |
No, you've traveled that imaginary road before, in your head and, with photochopped timeslips. Speak rationally now, tell what is cutup and I'll take a photo to show nothing is cutup. It's a 5 second n/a, no nitrous factory condition Nova with a front & back seat delete. Nothing gutted about it.

Again. Good advice. If I were the OP I would call both afr and brodix. Good luck. BG

ain't impressed! the camaro is all that and more without that god aweful valence hanging off the triple chrome plated front bumper.
