Synthetic or Regular ATF in your transmission?

SmokeEmSynthetic or Regular ATF in your transmission?
Do you think AMSOIL 100% synthetic automatic transmission fluid is good for a Powerglide? Or is too slick because it is synthetic? Looking for opinion, good or bad

Big SteveHaving tried most everything, Castrol Allison Transyn has been my go to fluid for the past 5 years.
2nd choice would be Lucas semi synthetic.

Lenny5160I used to run Mobil 1, then ran cheap NAPA brand Type F, and now have been running Castrol Transynd for a few years.
I’ve honestly never been able to tell a difference between any of them.
People who know better than I seem to think the Transynd resists breaking down better than just about anything, so I use that.

Big SteveThe way I look at it is if Transynd holds up to heat and abuse in big trucks, buses, Motorhomes etc, it with take the abuse of a racing trans.
I swiched to it while running a blown TD and was burning trans on a regular bases

markemarkAllison TES-668 is my only choice and can be purchased from the following fluid manufacturers as it is a licensed product. Included is their license number to produce.
TES-668 I use the Exxon Mobil Delvac 1 ATF 668 from my local Farm+ Fleet. It’s all the exact same product if on that list.

Bob PaytonI have been running Mobil 1 Synthetic trans fluid for years.

GoobI've always run the cheapest generic Dexron I could get my hands on, and never change it.
Considering going to something "better", should the occasion arise to drain what's in it.
Pretty sure most of the fluid in it right now is from 2003 or so.

AlaskaracerTransynd is the best you can get. I've been running Amsoil racing fluid for the last couple of years as well. Both are great and I've had no issues with either.

RPROGASLucas Semi Synthetic or Allison 668, never saw any difference in temperature or car consistency. For what it's worth, Hughes deep pan (2 extra quarts) tightened the consistency.
Honestly, the only difference was the $$$$$$$$ I spent. My oldest son Mike has always used type "F" in his TD.

ski_dwn_ittransynd for the win. Unless you race my tracks and then generic type F.

moparacerIf your not making thousands of HP, and a trans is built right you wont need anything fancy for fluid. I run Valvoline Maxlife multi vehicle full synthetic in my glide. $25 a gallon at Walmart. Every couple years I pull it apart to look at it. Looks good, back together for a couple more years. Just did it this past weekend. Stock case glide, 800-850 hp.

Toad1TES-668. Transmission reaches 170-180 pretty good and after 12-17 runs in a day it never sees 200. With Ford Type f I had to run trans cooler fan about 10 minutes on return road and pits to keep it at 180 after about 10 runs in a day.
I am going to run TES 668 for 200 runs and take a look at it when I drain it, it might go back in.

nomadI tried Amsoil trans fluid. Data recorder showed that it would slip for a bit after the shift. Went back to Driven and that nice peak came back.

Canted ValveInteresting, not one mention of trans fluid analysis. The same people that offer engine oil analysis offer trans fluid analysis. While many use the oil analysis, not one taker for trans analysis. Hummmmm

That's odd, never seen that with my stuff. Even when I managed to cook my trans from a broken sprag.....
