Is there any need for a beam shield on spoked dragster wheels these days with the infrared beams? Back when incandescent lights were used these shields seemed necessary. Considering removing mine if not needed.

We just have a small light "Half-moon" aluminum piece attached to the chassis or body underneath the front axle that will block any light problems.

The outside diameter is about the size of the inside of the rim and has never been a problem.

Almost invisible too!
