It's gonna go three quicker. I had a 1.64 low with a 5.13 & a 5.29 in mine 4.165 bore 421 cid, before boring 4.185 & putting a new set of J&E's 427 pistons in the engine. My spragless Bc-crcxls 802 Transmission Specialties converter slips 5.5 - 6% with a 5.00 gear, I could put the 1.64 back in the transmission with a 5.38 gear & cross 7550rpms with a 10 x 28 bias, if I had to. With a 29.5 radial banjo will cross 7250 rpms 111, it'll be three quicker.

I had a 3.89 along with a Pro Tree PTC converter a friend had in his attic 10 years. I called Kenny at PTC, gave him the numbers on it, he described to a T what it was (hard hit Pro Tree converter) active stator. I set this gear up to race 10.0 1/4 mile Orlando Street Nationals, thinking it was a 4.10. Couldn't believe it went 1.30 60ft w/ 3.89 gear 1.69 low.

banjo's sbc engine made 775hp, hell yeah it's gonna be a little quicker. Same as markemark started using his power with a little more SLR. His came alive. I've had a bunch of different ratio's in mine, I guarantee it picks up 2-3 hun minimum. Might dip in the 5's, if the engine is still fresh enough.

This one has been 114.5 mph 3.875 x 4.185 bore sbc 427 out of the box Brodix T1 233. It does have a fairly trick intake PKRE did up, and a Bo Laws dominator carb. Home built sbc n/a muscle.

Hello All Little update on the gear change, at this point, jury is still out on whether it picked up. I didn't get a chance to play with the shift point or launch rpms. My logger also decided it wanted to go on the fritz so I didn't get any data. I am happy thus far. I can hit the tree off the footbrake with the taller tire, so it did seem to pick up the reaction time 2-3 hundreds off the footbrake. So just accomplishing that, I am very happy. Et seems to be about the same, but it seems to have lost 1 mph or so. Car was running low 6.20s at 107.5 mph. Car also feels smoother and less violent. It's like it drives in to the wheels and floats the front out there. It was barely missing tripping the 60s with the rear tires. Here are a couple videos, one is a 3000 rpm footbrake launch and the other is a 4000 transbrake launch. Always seems crazy to me that the car runs with .01 between the footbrake and transbrake. https://flic.kr/p/2kJ5N5F https://flic.kr/p/2kJ5Kx6 Next race in two weeks, hopefully get to do a little more tuning on it. Banjo, I think you are pretty happy with that. From the videos looks smooth and it to me looks dead hook and rolls into the tires and stays totaly planted as the front carries and looks to keep the tire wrapped along way out. Real smooth and not violent.

Banjo, it looks really good. The air was really good last weekend so it may not be apples to apples. What did your weather station say it should run? https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge. If not there is no point to argue. 4X NE2 CHAMPION. 2020 TDRA NE2 Champion

Looks like it's leaving really well Banjo. XRP looks like a great place. We are planning on running the Fat Boy Mafia race there in April after the Spring Training race at I 30.

I really like that track, very smooth, I don't have alot of paper on it so I am not sure what it would normally do. Air was very good, by the end of the night, it was in the 100s for the corrected altitude. I expected it to run faster than it did. In two weeks I will be at a track that I have tons of data on, should be able to see a better correlation on how it changed. It was definitely fun to drive, looking at the pictures, it was just barely missing tripping the sixties with the rear tire. I love my cheering section, family was out in full force. Accutime II timing equipment at XRP correct? I noticed the MPH was a little tighter Sunshine 2013, after the new owner replaced Compulink with Accutime II, by 1 to 1.50 mph. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Rietow,

Same result. It just hits harder on the transbrake. Faster r/t on the transbrake by a substantial amount. Matt Ward

I bought a active stator Borg Warner sprag PTC converter a friend had in his attic ten years. This thing will go double on a 400 Pro tree with a 3.90 gear and a 1.69 low, 1.30 60ft. I called Kenny at PTC when I got it, he said it's what they call a hard hit converter. It's a bad dude,I wouldn't use it for Super Pro bracket racing though, personally. I had it in the car for one hit at Bradenton with 5.00 gear 1.69 low. When it left I thought the windshield broke. The next day when I rinsed the car off, the windshield was leaking, didn't break windshield, just broke the seal.

I think they can do more with the blades on the stator to multiply torque, below stall with an active stator, than they can a spragless. Because the biggest things I noticed about the PTC converter was, how aggressive it was at the hit in comparison to my typical spragless, but also how much more it slipped at the stripe in comparison to my typical spragless. Kenny at PTC told me, it would act like this beforehand. You can accomplish the same thing with the converter banjo, but you'd have to run an active stator. Not sure I'd wanna do that bracket racing. Unless I had a bolt together I could inspect the one way clutch quite often.

Consider adding more stall. Flash to 6400 – 6450 in really good air. This will drop back 200 rpm from flash and shift drop back should be less also.

You got a flyweight car . Banjo and I have heavyweight bombers, it's a little different LoL!

This is on my list of things to try. I have a second converter that is about 300 rpms looser. Car has always been faster with the tighter converter though.
