With the recent news that Chicagoland Speedway will not be hosting racing events in 2021, the corresponding impact on the shared resources between Chicagoland and Route 66 Raceway and the future uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Route 66 Raceway will unfortunately not be hosting drag racing events in 2021. This change is by no means a reflection of the support our Route 66 Raceway racers and fans have demonstrated. Our fans have exhibited a great amount of support and patience over the past year, during which we all have experienced significant challenges. We truly appreciate and value your commitment to racing and our track. Route 66 Raceway and Chicagoland Speedway has been a central member of the Joliet / Greater Chicagoland area for 20 years, and we will continue to operate as an integral part of our community. As far as Route 66 Raceway’s drag racing operations beyond 2021, it’s difficult at this time to speculate on what 2022 might bring. We will continue to explore potential future opportunities beyond next year and will share updates along the way. We hope you and your family continue to stay safe and healthy. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Alternate text Scott Paddock

Sad! It is being said by many, because of all the state of Illinois associated unfunded liabilities, Chicago is the next Detroit.

Those that have been there appreciate a beautiful facility.. Real convenient also when the certs are needed. Just drive on over to the NASCAR garage next door.

So looks like this entire deal will continue to interrupt the racing world into 2021. Should we expect to see places like Pomona, Sonoma, Seattle to follow suit? "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Marcus Tullius Cicero

Any business which isn't allowed by law to open for business, is gonna be in jeapordy of going out of business, including drag strips. Bandimere pushed back and opened when they were told by authorities, not to. This is the new normal, unless EVERYONE pushes back all at once, in order to survive. I said this months ago, and haven't participated at all. The first step is for everyone to take the mask off and tell anyone that says anything about it, to F off. It's what I've been doing from the start. Play blind obedience games with your freedom and you'll lose what was handed to you as a gift by those who spilled their blood to earn it.
