I have always used a 200 amp Cole Herse solenoid and never had a failure. I agree, people buy those China made $15 POS Ford solenoids from the local parts house, that's why they have trouble. Cole Herse is $75 from Amazon which is very fair IMO

Joe CI followed the Meziere instructions with their starter. The cable from the battery goes directly to the big post on the starter solenoid. The rest wired per instructions. Trouble free for years.

Joe CI did not state correctly how the battery cable was connected. It is connected to a Ford style solenoid on the same post as another cable connected directly to the big post on the solenoid. I followed the directions described in the earlier post by leg1 (Meziere Tech). Sorry for all the confusion.
