TSI has the only 5 second 1/8 mile n/a 23 sbc 3200 lb factory condition muscle car converter, I've seen Big Grin. Spragless.

neal chance will have more data with combos like yours and will most likely be better than the other companies. That doesnt mean that a bolt together from the other companies wont work, but more people with combos like yours use Chance, so they have more information on what to do to get combo right.

I think most all good companies use same internal components, to me what separates the average from the great companies is experience and record keeping.

I am a one man show and do most of my work myself, I do not want to take a transmission out 3 or 4 times and waste time to send it back until I get it right. Hughes has got it right FIRST time! I highly recommend them. You tell them what horsepower, (actual horsepower not what you think it may do) gear, tire and all of the information and they will hit it right and your car will run the number.

A good converter company will change it if they miss it but a great company will hit it right on first time. Hughes gets my vote.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

mathias, everyone will recommend the company they use

That said, the truth is this isn’t the forum for you to ask about that combo/car which clearly isn’t a bracket car.

Lots of good converter companies out there. Make some calls and see who listens well and to whom you feel you can have a good working relationship with.

Also, the more accurate info you can provide them the closer they will be able to build your new converter. Engine dyno info is just one piece of info that can be quite helpful to them. Oh and scale the car so you know the exact weight, not just a guess.

The best company out there is the one that gets you the converter spec'd the way you need it, with the customer support to go behind it. There is no one "best torque converter company" out there....but there are some to shy away from...

Neal Chance will have tons of info on combinations like yours. I haven’t used Marty in years because they moved away from the bracket world but they have done converters for others I know and their heads up stuff is top of the game. I truly don’t think you will be disappointed with them.

You need to have a photo bucket or similar account. Post them there, then add the link to your post here.
