I used to borrow a high end evap machine but don’t have access any more. At least twice now I have been positive I had the motor sealed up only to coat the entire car in oil on the very next pass (blown bbc’s in my experience always want to push oil if you give them the chance).

So, I’d like to start making it a practice of smoking everything before I run it. Seems like a chimney bomb in some kind of regulatable disassembalable tank would be easy but I don’t want to spend a bunch of time (or money) on this if I don’t have to.

Research on eBay . A guy on there sells a steel gallon paint can with air fittings , regulator and 12 volt wick . You put mineral oil in it and the wick heats it up from a 12 volt source and the smoke travels out a barbed fitting at I think 3psi . It was like 45.00 bucks and works great .

I bought one of those and it does work pretty well. The only thing for me is I hated the smell of the mineral oil smoke and the engine will smell like it for a while. It’s not overwhelming by any means, I just didn’t like it. Found leaks though. You have to give it a while for the smoke to move completely through the engine.

How do you get it to pressurize the engine?

It puts out enough pressure to work
